installation process expected to take up to one year.

Doug McMillan is the new manager of business development and planning for the Alberta Research Council’s energy division.
McMillan, who has more than 12 years’ experience in the oil and gas service sector, will work with energy business units in Calgary, Edmonton and Devon, Alta., to develop and implement plans for long-term growth.
The Edmonton-based research council develops and commercializes technologies to give clients a competitive advantage.

Dan Chugg of St. Albert has been appointed Alberta’s film commissioner.
Chugg, the founder and president of media production firm Vicom Ltd., will work out of new Alberta Film offices in Edmonton. The provincial agency was established this summer to serve the province’s film industry and promote Alberta internationally as a film location.

Dr. Mamoru (Mo) Watanabe has joined the advisory board of information technology firm RightsMarket Inc.
Watanabe, an educator, researcher and former dean of medicine at the University of Calgary, is known as the father of telehealth in Canada and was recently named to the Order of Canada for his contributions.
Calgary-based RightsMarket (RTS-TSX Venture) is a provider of information security solutions.
