Mullen Transportation Inc. has appointed Calgary lawyer Stephen Lockwood, QC, as president and co-CEO.
He replaces Murray Mullen, who will remain in the positions of co-CEO and chairman. Lockwood has served as corporate counsel with the firm for the past 15 years.
He is founder of Lockwood LLP, a 16-year-old Calgary-based law firm, and also a senior partner and founder of Carscallan Lockwood LLP.
J. Terry McCoy is the new president of Trafina Energy Ltd. He replaces Roland Val entine, who will remain chairman and chief executive of the Calgary-based firm (TFA.A-TSXV).
McCoy is the former vice-president of exploration and land at Murphy Oil Co. Ltd.
As well, Paul Watson has resigned as Trafina’s VP of exploration to pursue oth er interests, the company said.
Calgary lawyer John Burns, QC, is joining the Calgary office of Gowlings.
Burns, a longtime corporate lawyer, specializes in mergers and acquisitions, public and private offerings, cross-border financing, corporate restructuring, and oil and gas and banking transactions.
Dr. Don Kjosness is the new chair of Calgary-based NEWT’s advisory board.
Kjosness has more than 30 years of experience in development and management of advanced technology companies, including senior roles at SED Systems.
NEWT (Network for Emerging Wireless Technologies) is a wireless tech centre founded in Calgary in 2002.
Leonard (Len) Cornez will take up the positions of vice-president and CFO of Enerflex Systems Ltd. on June 1. Cornez has extensive financial expertise in the Canadian and international oilfield service industry.
Calgary-based Enerflex (EFX-TSX) supplies products and services to the global oil and gas pr oduction industry.
Pure Energy Services Ltd. of Calgary has boosted its ranks.
Andrew Kuehn joins the company’s production testing division, while Barry Fox brings 24 years of industry experience to the wire-line completions division.
Sarah Kelly will head the marketing communications department after many years at daily newspapers in the city, while former Radium Resort golf manager Kirby Lindal joins the company’s logging and perforating division.
John Newman has been appointed chief financial officer of Calgary-based Kodiak Energy Services Ltd. (KES-TSXV). He has more than 20 years of experience in the oilfield services industry.
