Jim Rakievich has been appointed to the president’s and CEO’s chair at McCoy Bros. Inc. of Edmonton. He succeeds David Dominy, who is leaving the company to pursue other interests.
Dominy will continue as a consultant until next January.
Rakievich has more than 20 years of related transportation experience, including six years in senior positions with McCoy Bros.(MCB-TSX). He has been vice-president and COO since last February.
McCoy Bros. operates truck services and sales as well as the manufacture of springs, axles, trailers and oilfield products.
Terence Alty is the new chief operating officer of Canyon Creek Soup Company, based in Calgary. Alty brings to the new position a 20-year career in the consumer packaged goods industry.
Calgary-based Oncolytics Biotech Inc. has named George Gill as senior vice-president of clinical and regulatory affairs.
Gill has been a consultant to the industry since 1999, when he retired from Ligand Pharmaceutical as vice- president of medical affairs. Gill has acted as an independent consultant to Oncolytics for the past year, providing counsel on negotiation of the regulatory process in Canada and the U.S.
Enterprise and banking solutions provider alterna Technologies Group Inc. of Calgary has appointed Hansine Cook to the post of controller and finance vice-president.
Prior to joining alterna, Cook was controller with Barton Instruments Systems Ltd. and director of financial reporting and analysis with IKON Office Solutions Inc.
