Revett Eldred is the new entrepreneur in residence (EIR) for Calgary Technologies Inc., the economic development agency for the city’s advanced technology sector.
The EIR program is designed to assist the growth of small and medium-sized technology companies through the provision of entrepreneur mentoring services.
Eldred, a businessman with a background in computer systems development, helped found and later sell Minerva Technology Inc. He was named Calgary business person of the year and profiled as one of 10 successful immigrants at the Canadian government’s pavilion at the Seville World Fair.
Public relations veteran Mona Gauvreau is the new vice-president of public relations for the Calgary office of Hill & Knowlton Canada.
Gauvreau, president of the Calgary chapter of the Canadian Public Relations Society, brings 15 years of national and international public relations experience to the position.
Prior to joining Hill & Knowlton, she operated pr works, a small agency with clients including the Delta Lodge at Kananaskis, WIC Television (Alberta) and the Global Petroleum Show.

Edmonton-based Maclab Enterprises has appointed Debra Murray to the position of VP of human resources.
Murray has more than 13 years of experience in the human resources field, including senior positions with an international contact centre company and a major Vancouver-based real estate company.
Maclab is an Edmonton-based, privately held real estate development firm with operations in Alberta, B.C., the N.W.T. and the U.S.
Dale Hohm has stepped down as vice-president and chief financial officer of Calgary-based Enerflex Systems Ltd. Hohm is moving on to a new opportunity with a private oil and gas company.
A search is under way for his replacement.
Enerflex supplies products and services to the global oil and gas production industry.
The company (EFX-TSX) has about 1,900 employees and operations in Canada, the United States, Germany, the Netherlands, Australia and Indonesia.
Avery Resources Inc. has appointed Lorraine Campbell as chief financial officer. Campbell has provided accounting and financial services to Avery and a predecessor company continuously since 1997. Avery (ARY-TSXV) is a junior international oil and gas explorer based in Calgary.
Victor Luhowy is the new president and CEO of Mystique Energy, Inc., based in Calgary.
The company (MYS-TSX) was formerly known as Schwanberg International Incorporated.
Luhowy has 32 years of experience in the oil and gas industry including past roles as president and CEO of BelAir Energy Corporation.
Mystique is involved in the exploitation and production of petroleum reserves in Western Canada.
