Elizabeth Burke-Gaffney has been appointed president, CEO and a director as well as interim CFO of Ranger Canyon Energy Inc. Dale Burstall has been appointed corporate secretary and a director. Ranger Canyon is a Calgary-based junior oil and gas company.
Pure Energy Services Ltd. (TSX:PSV) has made changes to its executive team effective Sept. 1. Michael Baldwin, Pure's CFO, will become executive VP. Brian Peters will become CFO. Peters is currently CFO for Technicoil Corp. Pure Energy provides a variety of services to the oil and gas industry in the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin. Its head office is in Calgary.
Graham Reid has tendered his resignation as VP of finance and CFO of Circa Enterprises Inc. (TSX:CTO), effective Aug. 25, to pursue other opportunities. Circa is a specialty manufacturer that focuses on surge protection and related equipment primarily for the telecom industry. It has offices in Alberta, Ontario and Florida.
WellPoint Systems Inc. (TSXV: WPS) has named Carrie Manion as senior VP of sales and services, and Michael Weiss as senior VP of software and technology. Most recently, Manion was VP of sales for Bolo Systems, Inc., which was acquired by Wellpoint in August 2007. Weiss previously was Wellpoint's vice-president of R&D. WellPoint Systems provides software and related services for the energy industry. The Calgary-based company also has major operations in Houston, Denver, Bogota and London, Eng.
Liberty Mines Inc. (TSX:LBE) has engaged Mark Trevisiol, P. Eng, as VP and COO effective Sept. 2. In the meantime he has joined the board of directors. Trevisiol spent his most of his career with Falconbridge Ltd. (now Xstrata Nickel). Edmonton-based Liberty Mines is a producer of nickel with properties in Ontario.
Prime Meridian Resources Corp. (TSXV:PMR) has hired John Gartner as its new VP of exploration. For the past year Gartner has been a project manager for the company. Based in Calgary, Prime Meridian is a base-metal exploration company with a portfolio of 15 projects in Michigan and Minnesota.
Richard Hayden, formerly director of business aviation for AeroMechanical Services Ltd. (TSXV:AMA), has replaced Darryl Jacobs as president. Jacobs is focusing on product research and will remain on the advisory board and the board of directors. Hayden was with Meggitt PLC from 2002 until June 30 of this year and served as the primary interface between AMA and Meggitt for the past 21/2 years. AeroMechanical provides products and services designed to reduce costs and improve efficiencies in the airline industry. Its headquarters are in Calgary.
Richard Edgar has been appointed executive director of Arrow Energy Ltd. (TSXV:AOF), replacing Chris Tesarski who has resigned as president and CEO. Sandford Gauchier, a director of Arrow, has been appointed as VP of surface operations. Arrow says Gauchier brings extensive knowledge of northern communities and experience working with Aboriginal and Metis settlements. Arrow is a Calgary-based junior resource company focused on natural gas and oil in Alberta.
DirectCash Income Fund (TSX: DCI.UN) named John Fauville as CFO of the Calgary-based fund's operating company, DirectCash Management Inc. Most recently, Fauville was director of business initiatives for Enmax Corp. DirectCash is a provider of ATMs, debit terminals and prepaid debit and credit card products.
Kasian Architecture Interior Design and Planning has two new principals. Peter Streith and Vaughan Hoy work out of Kasian's Edmonton office. Kasian was founded in Edmonton and has seven other offices around the world.
Douglas Quinn joins North West Upgrading as president and CEO effective Sept. 1. Quinn previously was the site general manager for an oil refinery on the U.S. Gulf Coast. He replaces Robert Pearce, who will move into the role of senior VP of corporate development and continues as a director. North West is a Calgary-based, privately owned company building an independent, heavy-oil upgrader in Sturgeon County, Alberta.
Breaker Energy Ltd. (TSX:WAV.A, WAV.B) has appointed Doug Seams to the position of VP of business development. Most recently, Seams was president of CDX Gas Canada. Breaker Energy is a junior oil and gas company with corporate office in Calgary.

Suroco Energy Inc. (TSXV: SRN) has engaged Alastair Hill as president, CEO and a director. Hill was most recently a VP with the international division at Encana Corp. He takes over from Jeffrey Scott, the founder of Suroco, who has acted as president and CEO since its inception in 2005. Scott remains a director and will be chairman of the operating committee. Suroco is a Calgary-based junior oil and gas company operating in Western Canada, the United States, and Central and South America.

After five years at the helm, Alexandros Kostis has tendered his resignation as president, CEO and a director of Metamedia Capital Corp. (TSXV:MME). Harry Diamantopoulos, a company director, has been appointed as the new president and CEO. Metamedia is an international media company with interests in publishing, specialty channels, internet websites and internet-based broadcasting. Its head office is in Calgary.
