Richard Roskey is the new general manager of the western region for Q9 Networks Inc.

Roskey has more than 18 years experience in sales and management in the technology, telecommunications and oil and gas services industries. Prior to joining Q9, he held senior positions with companies including Sprint Canada, Enerflex and IBM Canada.

Based in Calgary and Toronto, Q9 Networks provides Internet infrastructure and managed hosting services. The company recently opened a 22,000-sq.-ft. Internet data centre in downtown Calgary.

Milagro Energy Inc. has made key appointments to its senior ranks.

Robert Browning has been named operations manager at Milagro (MIG-TSXV). He has more than 25 years’ experience in domestic and international energy, most recently as manager of production engineering and special projects at National Fuel Exploration Corp.

As well, the Calgary-based company has put Henning Lies in the position of reservoir engineering manager.

Lies has more than 25 years of oil- and gas-related experience, most recently as a consultant in the fields of geologic fluid system studies and reservoir and economic evaluations.

Former provincial cabinet minister Jim Dinning is the new board vice-chairman of Western Financial Group, based in High River.

Dinning has more than 30 years of government, industry and board experience. He has been executive vice-president of TransAlta Corporation since 1997, and prior to that was a provincial MLA for 11 years.

Dinning is also a director of Finning International Inc. and Shaw Communications Inc.

Western Financial Group Inc. (WES-TSX) provides insurance, investment and agency banking services to more than 140,000 customers in more than 40 communities in British Columbia, Alberta and Saskatchewan.

Technicoil Corporation is revamping its management team on the heels of the closure of U.S. operations and a restructuring of Canadian assets.

Marvin Clifton has been named president of the Calgary-based company (TEC-TSXV). Previously, he ran the service rig division for a major Canadian drilling and service rig company.

As well, Reg Layden has been promoted to the position of operations manager. He will manage day-to-day operational activities from the company’s operations centre in Redcliffe, Alta.

Christopher Hunter is the new manager of finance and administration.

Meanwhile, Mark Andreychuk, Dell Chapman and Colin Murch have left the company.

Technicoil Corporation supplies drilling and service operations to the oil and gas industry in North America.
