Heinz Portmann, chairman, president and CEO of Dynetek Industries Ltd. since he founded it in 1991, will relinquish the latter two roles but continue as chairman of the board.

Robb Thompson has been promoted to president and CEO effective immediately.

In his role as chairman, Portmann will continue to be involved in research and development of advanced energy storage technologies as well as the long-term strategic direction of Dynetek.

Thompson has been with Dynetek since March 2000, joining the company as chief financial officer and more recently adding chief operating officer responsibilities.

Karen Minton has been promoted to VP, finance and administration. Minton joined Dynetek in October 2000 as the corporate controller.

Dynetek Industries Ltd. produces fuel storage and refuelling systems for compressed natural gas vehicles and compressed hydrogen fuel-cell
vehicles.

TriQuest Energy Corp. of Calgary has appointed Bruce McIntyre as the company’s president and CEO. McIntyre brings 23 years of oil and gas experience to the position.

He was the president, CEO and a founder of Sommer Energy Ltd. which was sold to TriQuest earlier this year, whereupon he was appointed VP.

TriQuest Energy Corp. is Calgary-based oil and gas exploration and production company.

The River Valley Alliance (RVA), a consortium of seven municipalities in Alberta’s Capital Region, has hired Bruce Wilson of Edmonton to the newly created position of executive director.

Wilson, who previously served as executive director, tourism development with Alberta Economic Development, joins the RVA on Oct. 1 for a term through Sept. 30, 2004.

The river valley park system will stretch from Devon to Fort Saskatchewan when fully developed.
