The new stock exchange CNQ has opened its first branch office in Vancouver and named two executives.

Don Gordon has been appointed senior adviser. He has more than 20 years experience in corporate financial analysis, including five years running a private consulting business and 17 years with the Vancouver Stock Exchange.

Natasha Blackburn will serve as manager of market development. Most recently, she was CNQ's manager of dealer relations and prior to that worked in investor relations with TSX- and TSXV-listed companies.

Dragon Pharmaceutical Inc. (OTCBB:DRUG, TSX:DDD) has appointed Rene A. Fricker as the director of Dragon's European office in Basel, Switzerland.

Fricker has extensive experience in the chemical industry in Europe. Prior to joining Dragon, he was with Rohner AG, a subsidiary of the Dynamit Nobel AG Group of Germany from 1992 - most recently as CEO and a board member.

Dragon is a generic'-pharmaceutical company.

Lundin Mining Corp. (TSX:LUN) has appointed Karl-Axel Waplan as president and CEO.

Waplan, Lundin's executive vice-president for operations since last May, replaces Edward (Ted) Posey, who will continue to work as an adviser on several of Lundin Mining's key exploration projects in Sweden, as well as with other Canadian firms in the Lundin Group.

Lundin is a Canadian mining and exploration company with a primary focus in Scandinavia.

Stressgen Biotechnologies Corp. has appointed its CFO Gregory McKee as its president and chief executive.

McKee will immediately replace Dan Korpolinski, who is leaving the company.

Stressgen (TSX:SSB) focuses on the discovery, development and commercialization of therapeutic vaccines to treat infectious diseases and cancer.

Exeter Resource Corp. has appointed Cecil Bond of Vancouver as its CFO. Bond is a chartered accountant with 20 years experience in South Africa, London and Canada.

Exeter (TSXV:XRC, FWB:EXB) is a Canadian company exploring gold-silver and copper-gold projects in Argentina.

The Law Society of BC has appointed Tim McGee as CEO and executive director.

McGee was called to the Ontario bar in 1987 and began his legal career with the Toronto law firm Torys LLP. Most recently, he was president of Bell ExpressVu, Canada's largest provider of digital television.

The Law Society of BC is the governing body for the B.C. legal profession.

Eye drug developer QLT Inc. said chief financial officer Michael Doty is stepping down.

The Vancouver company said that Cameron Nelson, QLT's vice-president of finance, will assume the duties of CFO while the company searches for Doty's replacement.

QLT (TSX:QLT) specializes in developing treatments for cancer, eye diseases and dermatological and urological conditions.

The Vancouver Foundation has appointed Faye Wightman as president and chief executive officer.

Wightman is most recently vice-president of external relations at the University of Victoria. She has an extensive background in the charitable sector.

The Vancouver Foundation is Canada's largest community foundation, managing 900 separate endowment funds worth more than $600 million.

The Vancouver Organizing Committee of the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games (VANOC) has announced the appointment of Ward Chapin as the organization's senior vice-president of technology and systems.

Chapin was most recently with HSBC Bank, where he held information technology and technical and corporate services roles in Canada and in Europe.

VANOC has also appointed as vice-presidents Linda Coady for sustainability, Andrea Shaw for sponsorship sales and marketing, Renee Smith-Valade for communications and Burke Taylor for culture and ceremonies.
