The Strategic Tourism Marketing Council in Alberta has added five new members. The appointees will add their expertise and experience to the industry-led body that oversees Alberta’s tourism marketing.

The new council members are: Crosbie Cotton of Calgary, Ken Mandursiak of Red Deer, Jim Marshall of Sherwood Park, Frank Saulnier of Edmonton and Ladd Snowsell of Banff. They will fill vacancies created by retiring council members and are appointed for three-year terms.

Re-appointed to second terms are Marilyn Backman and Gary Hanson, both of Edmonton.

Established in December 1998, the 19-member STMC is comprised of tourism professionals from across the province who provide marketing expertise to bolster Alberta’s tourism industry.

BW Technologies has named Robert Henderson as its director of business development. Henderson joins the Calgary-based company (BWT-TSX) from RAE Systems, a gas-detection firm where he served as vice- president of instruments.

He will work from the company’s Calgary headquarters for about six months, then be posted at BW’s U.S. head office in Arlington, Va.

BW Technologies designs and manufactures gas- detection equipment and produces a range of fixed and portable instruments.

Randell Pardy has stepped down as president and chief executive officer of Resolute Energy.

He has been replaced by Brian Lemke, the company’s executive vice-president and an energy sector veteran with 22 years of experience.

The company (RSE-TSX) has also named Barry Jackson as its executive chairman.

Resolute is a Calgary-based oil and gas company with operations in Western Canada and Indonesia.
