FP Newspapers Income Fund (TSX:FP.UN) has announced the resignation of Kevin Karr, vice-president, CFO and secretary, effective April 2. Karr has been a senior officer of the fund since its inception in May 2002 and is leaving to join another North American organization. The search for a replacement is underway. The fund owns a 49-per-cent interest in FP Canadian Newspapers Limited Partnership, which owns the Winnipeg Free Press and the Brandon Sun and their related businesses, as well as Canstar Community News Ltd. The fund's head office is in Winnipeg.

* San Gold (TSXV:SGR) has named Ron Moran vice-president of technical services, responsible for long-term mine planning, budgeting, new pro-jects and co-ordinating contractor activities with the mine department. He comes with more than 25 years of mine management and engineering experience. San Gold's Rice Lake gold project is located 230 km northeast of Winnipeg.
