Hawker Resources Inc. has named a new chief operating officer and new chief financial officer to replace two retiring executives.

Donald Nelson replaces Terry Schmidtke as COO, while David Scobie replaces Barry Herring as CFO.

Nelson previously served as the president and CEO of Summit Resources Ltd. until its acquisition by Paramount Resources Ltd. in 2002.

Scobie served for many years as chief financial officer of Anderson Exploration Ltd., acquired by Devon Energy Corp. in 2001.

Calgary-based Hawker (TSX:HKR) is developing and acquiring oil and natural gas reserves in Western Canada.

Drilcorp Energy Ltd. says it has terminated Andy Burnett as president and COO.

Charles Cook has become the new president, chief executive officer and a director of the Calgary-based company.

Over a 24-year career in the oil and gas industry, Cook has directed and led all aspects of oil and gas assets.

Drilcorp (TSXV-DCL) is a junior oil and gas company.

Royal Host REIT will see a shift at the top later this month.

New president Greg Royer will remain Royal Host's chief executive officer, a position he assumed in December of 2003. He replaces Randy Royer, who has been president of the trust since its inception. Randy Royer, who will be leaving Dec. 31, will continue in his capacity as a trustee.

Calgary-based Royal Host (TSX:RYL.UN, TSX:RYL.DB, TSX:RYL.DB.A) is a diversified hotel real estate investment trust that owns 38 hotels, manages 141 properties and franchises 120 locations.
