Challenger Energy Corp. (TSXV:CHQ) has appointed veteran oil industry executive Dan MacDonald as president of the Calgary junior company as it begins drilling a natural gas well in the Caribbean. MacDonald was most recently president of privately owned Canadian Voyager Energy Ltd. Neil MacKenzie will continue as CEO, Challenger said. Challenger focuses on oil and gas plays offshore Trinidad and Tobago and off the coast of Nova Scotia.
Turnkey E&P Inc. (TSX:TKY) has appointed Robert Tessari as president and chief executive officer, replacing Dale Bossert, who becomes chairman of the board. These appointments are effective July 16. Tessari, who founded Tesco Corp., retired from Tesco earlier this year after 21 years with the company. He will remain a director of Tesco. Calgary-based Turnkey is focused on oil and natural gas acquisition and development activities in the continental United States.
Southern Pacific Resource Corp. (TSXV:STP) has added to its senior management staff. Gord Stabb has joined as vice-president of exploration. Stabb is a petroleum geologist with more than 25 years of experience in the western Canadian oil and gas sector. Southern Pacific also announced that Arun Dey has resigned as president, CEO and a director. A search for a replacement CEO has begun, with Dave Antony assuming the role of CEO in the interim. The company has a growth strategy focused on the oilsands of Alberta. It is based in Calgary.
Ramtelecom Inc. (TSXV:RTC) says Bob Ardiel is retiring as CFO and taking a position on the board. Ray Charron is the new VP of finance and CFO. He has spent two years as controller with operating subsidiary Misener Telecom. Ramtelecom is a satellite service provider delivering broadband data and voice business communications. It has offices in Calgary and Ottawa.
Divestco Inc. (TSX:DVT) has promoted Steve Sinclair-Smith to the position of chief operating officer. Sinclair-Smith, who was previously senior VP of services, joined Divestco in March of 2003. Divestco is a software, data, services and consulting company to the oil and gas industry. It is headquartered in Calgary.
GFI Oil and Gas Corp. (TSXV:GFI) has appointed Gerald Clark as CFO. Clark was most recently the CFO of Output Exploration, LLC. GFI has core interests in two fields currently under development offshore Thailand and offshore northern Sumatra. Its head office is in Calgary.
Chartwell Technology Inc. (TSX:CWH) has promoted Aideen Shortt to VP of sales and marketing. Shortt joined Chartwell in 2004 as commercial director. Chartwell provides software systems and entertainment content to the online and remote gaming industry. Its head office is in Calgary.
Milagro Energy Inc. (TSX:MIG) has appointed Mike Alvey as its new VP of operations. Alvey most recently has been an independent consulting engineer to the petroleum industry. Calgary-based Milagro is an exploration and production company active in Western Canada.
Noel Lumsden becomes Tyler Resources Inc.'s (TSXV:TYS) acting CFO while Jennifer Munro is on maternity leave. Prior to joining Tyler, Lumsden held financial positions for public and private companies in the IT and energy services sectors. Tyler Resources is a Calgary-based junior exploration company focused on base and precious metals in Mexico.
Tom Ebbern has joined the investment banking group at Tristone Capital to replace Brad Hurtubise as a managing director. Hurtubise is retiring in September. Ebbern previously was a managing director of institutional research at Tristone since 2002. This position is being filled by Chris Theal, who also joined the Calgary company in 2002. Tristone is a global energy advisory firm with more than 150 technical and financial professionals in offices in the U.K., Argentina, Canada and the U.S.
Scott Gordon has resigned his position as VP of engineering and operations for Geocan Energy Inc. (TSX:GCA). Geocan is a Calgary-based oil and natural gas exploration and production company.
Ceramic Protection Corp. (TSX:CEP), a manufacturer of ballistic armour systems, has promoted Douglas Stafford to COO. Ceramic Protection is headquartered in Calgary with offices in Newark, Del., and Sunrise, Fla.
Tango Energy Inc. (TSXV:TEI) has announced the resignation of John Bell as president and secretary. Bell will remain as a director and technical consultant to the Calgary company as he pursues his recreational business interests. John Gunn will assume the role of president and CEO, while Jeremy Newton will become VP of land and exploration. Tango is conducting an exploration program in west-central Alberta.
