Ranchgate Energy Inc. has given the nod to Donald Almond as vice-president operations and exploitation, and Ross Willison as manager of land.
Almond has more than 25 years of experience in the oil and gas industry and has worked with the management group of Ranchgate in two other companies. Willison has more than 20 years of industry experience in the areas of acquisitions and divestures, contracts and negotiations.
Ranchgate Energy Inc. (ROG-TSX) is a Calgary-based oil and gas exploration and production company with its principal properties located in east-central Alberta and west-central Saskatchewan.
Scott Price has resigned from the helm of Aventura Energy.
Price is stepping down as president and chief executive after three years with the Calgary-based firm (AVR-TSXV). He has also resigned from the board of directors.
Board chairman Lorenzo Donadeo will replace him on an interim basis. Donadeo is president and CEO of Aventura’s parent company, Vermilion Energy Trust.
Barry Anderson has been appointed executive director of the Edmonton 2005 World Masters Games Local Organization.
Anderson, who is resigning his post as manager of the City of Edmonton’s Parkland Services, joined the city’s senior management ranks in 1984 and has worked in several areas, including parks, major facilities and recreation.
The World Masters Games will be held in July 2005 with more than 16,000 competitors.

Alan Finley has resigned as the vice-president of finance and CFO to pursue other business opportunities. He will continue to provide consulting services to CCR until a new appointment is made.

Blair Halliday is assuming the role of president and chief operating officer at building products manufacturer Winalta Inc.
He replaces James Sapara, who will continue as chairman and CEO of the Edmonton-based firm, but is stepping back after 27 years at the helm.
Halliday was previously the company’s executive vice-president and chief financial officer.
As well, Brian Sykes has been promoted to vice-president of marketing after 10 years with the firm, most recently as general manager.
