Birch Mountain Resources Ltd. (TSX, AMEX:BMD) has hired John Clarke as VP and CFO. Clarke has spent the last 25 years in the Alberta oilsands industry in various capacities. Birch Mountain’s previous CFO Hansine Ullberg will continue on a part-time basis to provide continuity in the accounting role. In other changes at the Calgary company, Derrick Kershaw takes on the newly formed position of senior VP of marketing and investor relations. Birch Mountain is developing the industrial mineral potential of its properties in the Alberta oilsands region.

Petrowest Energy Services Trust (TSX:PRW.UN) has appointed Lloyd Wiggins as CFO. Wiggins spent the last five years as an executive VP and CFO in the trust sector. He replaces John Paul, who has left the Grande Prairie company to pursue personal interests but will provide consulting services until mid March. Petrowest provides pre-drilling and post-completion energy and civil infrastructure services to the northern region of the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin.

Byron Lutes has joined Southern Pacific Resource Corp. (TSXV:STP) as president. Lutes is a professional engineer with more than 21 years of experience in the western Canadian oil and gas industry. Southern Pacific is a junior oil and gas exploration company that acquired 80-per-cent interest in 219 contiguous sections of oilsands lease. Its head office is in Calgary.

Peter Brown will be acting as consulting VP of exploration for Montello Resources Ltd. (TSXV:MEO) and Charles Baumgart will act as consulting VP of infrastructure and business development. Brown is the COO for Pennine Petroleum Corp., Montello's joint venture partner at Pincher Creek. Baumgart is the president of Middleton Energy Management Ltd. and a director of Pennine. Montello Resources is an emerging company engaged in oil and gas exploration in the Tennessee Appalachians as well as in Alberta at Sarcee and Pincher Creek. Its head office is in Calgary.

Rupert was most recently operations manager of a private energy company based in Oklahoma. Enterra is a conventional oil and gas trust based in Calgary that operates principally in Western Canada and Oklahoma.

AltaLink L.P., Alberta’s largest electric transmission services provider, has recruited Joseph Bronneberg to the roles of executive VP and CFO. Bronneberg was most recently VP and CFO of TVI Pacific Inc. Richard McCabe, who has been interim CFO, remains with AltaLink as its VP, controller. AltaLink is responsible for the operation of more than 11,600 kilometres of transmission lines and approximately 260 substations in Alberta. It is based in Calgary.

The former president and chief operating officer at the Forzani Group Ltd. (TSX:FGL) says he was taken by surprise after being let go from the sports retailer one day after the company reported a 21-per-cent jump in holiday season sales. Bill Gregson had been with the company for 11 years. Calgary-based Forzani also said Tom Quinn, president of its franchise businesses, will now head both the corporate and franchise segments as president.

Keith Scott has been appointed VP of strategic alliance and planning for Tourism Calgary. For the past 20 years Scott has been employed with the Calgary Zoo, the past nine of which he spent as director of business operations. He sat on the Tourism Calgary board of directors for several years, including a term as chairman. Tourism Calgary is a not-for-profit, membership-based organization that markets and promotes Calgary and area.

Trinidad Energy Services Income Trust (TSX:TDG.UN), which is reconverting into a regular corporation, says founder Michael Heier has resigned as CEO for personal reasons, to be succeeded by Lyle Whitmarsh, who retains his previous title as
president. Heier will continue as chairman and a significant investor in the Calgary-based drilling and well-service provider.

Enbridge Inc. (TSX:ENB, NYSE:ENB) says it has shuffled its senior management team to help execute its future growth plans. Al Monaco, the president of the Enbridge gas distribution business, will become executive VP of major projects and will be replaced by Janet Holder. CFO Steve Wuori will become executive VP of liquids pipelines, switching roles with Richard Bird. Enbridge operates the world’s longest crude oil and liquids transportation system in Canada and the U.S. Is head office is in Calgary.

Pure Technologies Ltd. has made several senior staff appointments at its wholly owned subsidiary, Pure Technologies US Inc. Mark Holley has been appointed to the position of president, having previously served as VP of the subsidiary. Mike Higgins, previously east-coast regional manager, has been promoted to VP of business development. Pure has developed technologies for inspection, monitoring and management of critical infrastructure. Pure operates from its headquarters in Calgary and through subsidiaries in Maryland and New Jersey.

Technicoil’s current CEO, Arthur Dumont, has decided to step down from that role but remain as a board member. Former president and CEO Colin Christensen becomes VP of corporate development, and will also be responsible for investor relations. Boxxer is a Calgary-based junior resource company focused on a gold project in the Philippines and company properties in Nevada and the Northwest Territories.
