Financial industry veteran Michael Nobrega has become the new chief executive officer for OMERS, replacing Paul Haggis, who announced Feb. 1 he was stepping down.

Nobrega was previously president and CEO of Borealis Infrastructure, which manages infrastructure investments for OMERS. Nobrega will appoint a president to assume his responsibilities at Borealis.

Pension plan OMERS has $48 billion invested in assets around the globe and provides retirement benefits to 372,000 members on behalf of 900 local government employers across Ontario.

Brenda Hoffman has been appointed chief information officer and senior vice-president of the TSX Group, effective the end of April.

She is currently VP of development. John Cieslak will step down at the end of April as executive VP, CIO and chief administration officer of TSX Group. Cieslak joined the TSX Group in 2000.

TSX Group (TSX:X) operates the Toronto Stock Exchange and TSX Venture Exchange, the Natural Gas Exchange and Shorcan Brokers Ltd., a fixed-income inter-dealer broker. Its corporate office is in Toronto.

Nancy Hughes Anthony has been named president and CEO of the Canadian Bankers Association (CBA) effective May 28. Currently president and CEO of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce, she succeeds Raymond Protti, who announced his retirement last year.

The CBA is an industry association of Canadian chartered banks, foreign bank subsidiaries and foreign bank branches in Canada. Its headquarters are in Toronto.

MDS Inc. (TSX:MDS, NYSE:MDZ) has hired Douglas Prince as executive VP of finance and CFO. He brings more than 28 years of experience in finance and operations management, joining MDS from PerkinElmer.

MDS provides products and services for the development of drugs, and diagnosis and treatment of disease. Its head office is in Mississauga.

AirIQ Inc. (TSX:IQ) says Stephen Willey has been named its interim CEO. Donald Simmons, CEO for 10 years, becomes executive chairman of the board.

Willey has most recently been consulting for the company on marketing and sales strategies. Air IQ says it intends to discuss with Willey terms of his becoming CEO permanently.

AirIQ provides wireless Internet applications to owners of vehicles and vessels. Its head office is in Pickering.

Cunningham Lindsey Group Inc. (TSX:LIN) has promoted Rob Seal to president and CEO of Cunningham Lindsey Canada Ltd. He has been with Cunningham Lindsay Canada for 20 years, most recently as president of the Canadian claims services operations.

Cunningham Lindsey Canada is an independent insurance services company headquartered in Mississauga.

Home Capital Group Inc. (TSX:HCG) has hired John Harry as senior VP for credit and risk management in commercial lending. Harry brings more than 25 years' experience in real estate finance and banking.

Home Capital is a Toronto holding company operating through its principal subsidiary, Home Trust Co., which has offices in Ontario, B.C., Alberta and Nova Scotia.

Rocky Cosentino has been named regional sales VP of Symbility Solutions Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Automated Benefits Corp. (TSXV: AUT). He will head the Chicago office.

Before joining Symbility, Cosentino spent 10 years with Epicor Software Corp. Symbility's mobile claims system focuses on residential and commercial property claims estimation. It is headquartered in Waterloo.
