Carol Perry has been named to the Ontario Securities Commission (OSC) for a three-year term, commission chairman David Brown has announced. Perry is currently managing partner at MaxxCap Corporate Finance Inc., a financial advisory services firm. The Ontario government recently reappointed commissioners Harold Hands and Robert L. Shirriff, Q.C., for three-year terms.
There are currently 13 commissioners appointed to the OSC, which oversees the securities industry in Ontario.
Cygnal Technologies Corp. (TSX:CYN) has named Brad Arsenault as executive VP of operations for Cygnal Network Solutions.
Arsenault will be responsible for Cygnal's national operating policies and will have direct responsibility for central region operations. He was most recently vice-president of technical operations at MCI Canada. Cygnal Technologies Corp. designs, installs and manages wired and wireless communication networks.
Titanium Corp. Inc. (TSXV:TIC) has named Salustio Guzman as vice-president of marketing and technology. He will be responsible for taking final titanium and zircon products to market.
Titanium Corp. Inc. of Toronto is a mineral exploration and development company aimed at becoming the first titanium and zircon- sand producer from Canada's oilsands.
Lucid Entertainment Inc. (TSX:LUC) says it has accepted the resignation of Michael Wilkings as chairman and CEO for health reasons. President and COO Alan Moore will act as interim chief executive, and director Sander Shalinsky as chairman of the board, until permanent replacements are named.
Lucid Entertainment Inc. develops and operates branded entertainment and hospitality venues internationally.
Logistics service company Cube Route of Toronto has appointed Alex Walker chief executive officer. Walker, who will also join Cube Route's board, has more than 10 years of C-level experience guiding operations of software, services and manufacturing businesses.
Prior to his appointment at Cube Route, he was chief operating officer and chief financial officer of Abridean.
Light metals provider Timminco Ltd. has named George Chiarucci vice-president of finance and chief financial officer.
Chiarucci, who most recently was CFO of Cymat Corp., succeeds Halina McGregor, who resigned in October for personal reasons.
Timminco also announced that Charles Entrekin is taking the new position of executive vice-president for technology and strategy.
Timminco (TSX:TIM) provides magnesium, silicon, aluminum, calcium and strontium products used in a broad range of industries.
Revenue Minister John McCallum has appointed Connie Roveto as chair of the Canada Revenue Agency's board of management. Roveto is president of Cirenity Management.
The board of management is responsible for overseeing the organization and administration of the agency.
TV industry veteran Jim Nelles has been promoted from general sales manager to the new vice-president and general manager of Toronto 1, the station's owner, TVA, Inc., has announced.
Prior to joining Toronto 1, Nelles was a senior executive at Rogers Media Television and Rogers Digital Group.
The Toronto Board of Trade has announced that Alon Marcovici has joined the organization as chief marketing officer and vice-president.
Marcovici brings 12 years of international marketing and communications experience to his new role.
The Ontario Power Authority (OPA) has named Paul Shervill as vice-president for retail services.
He joins the OPA from Union Gas, where he has been director of retail channel management since 2002.
Dave Masotti has been named the executive vice-president and chief marketing officer of Call-Net Enterprises Inc. (TSX:FON, FON.NV.B).
Masotti joins Call-Net from DFM Consulting where he was the principal.

Workbrain Corp. (TSX: WB) has appointed enterprise software veteran Susan Hutt as senior vice-president for global services.
She was formerly group vice- president of global services at PeopleSoft.
Workbrain develops, markets, implements and supports software for large organizations to manage their workforces.
