Marlo Thomas has resigned as executive vice-president of Calgary-based PetroKazakhstan Inc. The company said Thomas has relinquished his role for an indefinite period of time due to health reasons. His position will be filled by Thomas Dvorak, who has been appointed president of PetroKazakhstan’s two operating subsidiaries, PetroKazakhstan Kumkol Resources and PetroKazakhstan Oil Products.
Dvorak, previously vice-president (legal and contracts), will be based in the city of Almaty in the Kazakhstan republic.
PetroKazakhstan (PKZ-TSE; PKZ-NYSE) is a vertically integrated, international energy company engaged in the acquisition, exploration, development and production of oil and gas, refining of oil and the sale of oil and refined products.
Michael Hriskevich has retired as president and CEO of Alhambra Resources Ltd. (ALH-TSXV).
He will be replaced in the president’s chair by Elmer Stewart, who has 28 years of experience in domestic and international exploration and mining. Stewart has worked primarily in Kazakhstan since 1997, but has recently served as a technical consultant for the Calgary-based company.
As well, John Komarnicki has been appointed chief executive officer. Komarnicki has three decades of domestic and international resource development experience.
Alhambra is a junior exploration and development company pursuing advanced gold projects in Central Asia.
Allan Tookey has resigned as CEO of Roadking Travel Centres. Tookey stepped down for family reasons as the company shifted its head office from Calgary to Sherwood Park. He has been replaced by Delores James.
Roadking owns and operates two Alberta travel centres in Sherwood Park and Calgary, providing services and facilities including diesel fuel sales, retail gas sales, accommodation and restaurants.
