Cardiome Pharma Corp. (TSX:COM, Nasdaq:CRME) has promoted Don McAfee to the position of chief scientific officer. McAfee joined Cardiome in 2004 as vice-president of new product development and was most recently VP of research.
Alan Ezrin, who had been acting as CSO on a consulting basis, will continue with Cardiome as a consultant.
Cardiome has also appointed Karim Lalji to the position of senior VP of commercial affairs. Lalji was previously VP of business strategy at Sepracor, Inc.
Cardiome is a cardiovascular drug-development firm with two clinical drug programs underway. Its corporate office is in Vancouver.
Boston Pizza International Inc. has promoted Joanne Forrester to the position of VP of marketing, corporate services based out of its head office in Richmond.

Dave Brownlie becomes chief operating officer of Intrawest Mountain Resorts, Canada; while David Barry becomes COO of Intrawest Mountain Resorts, United States/helicopter operations.

Kenneth Galbraith has joined Ventures West, a private venture-capital company, as venture partner. He will be based in the Vancouver office.

Minco Silver Corp. (TSX:MSV) has appointed Timothy Marlow as VP of operations for Minco. He comes with more than 35 years of experience as senior mining engineer and executive in a global setting.
Marlow will be responsible for the exploration and development of Minco's Fuwan silver project.
Minco acquires and develops silver projects in China. Its head office is in Vancouver.
Donna Wichers has accepted the position of senior VP of Energy Metals Corp. (TSX:EMC, NYSE:EMU), based out of Casper, Wyo.
Previously Wichers served as the general manager of in-situ recovery ops and reclamation for Pathfinder Mines and Cogema Mining in Wyoming.
Vancouver-based Energy Metals is focused on advancing its uranium properties in the U.S. toward production.
Avcorp Industries Inc. (TSX:AVP) is hiring Mark van Rooij as its new CEO effective April 1.
Van Rooij is currently executive VP of Stork Fokker in the Netherlands.

Catalyst Paper (TSX:CTL), which is cutting 350 jobs in a $21.2-million restructuring program to improve the company's finances, says David Smales, currently VP of strategy, will become acting VP of finance and CFO on March 29.
President and CEO Russel Horner and CFO Ralph Leverton announced in January they would be leaving the company following Catalyst's March 28 annual meeting.
