Athabasca University’s Centre for Innovative Management has announced a world partnership for a post-MBA business program.
The program will be jointly offered by four distance universities: Deakin University in Australia, the Hong Kong Open University, the Open University of the United Kingdom and AU.
The universities have teamed up to form the World Alliance on Distance Education (WADE) and will together offer an intensive, year-long program for working managers and professionals.
The courses will use Internet-based communications technologies to allow participants from across the globe to work collaboratively.
“This partnership creates the world’s first truly global business school offering,” said Dr. Peter Carr, director of AU’s Centre for Innovative Management.
“In today’s increasingly international business world, a program based on interaction between managers from across four continents will be extremely attractive to both individuals and corporations.”
Participants in the program will be expected to have an MBA and will study four courses to receive a joint certificate from the four institutions. Areas of business management covered are:
* Corporate Governance in a Global Environment
* International Supply Chain Management
* Global Trade and Markets in Changing Economic and Political Environments n Emerging Issues in Inter- national Business.
The program is scheduled to commence in January of 2003.
