Keith O'Regan has joined Canadian Hydro Developers, Inc. (TSX:KHD) as executive VP and COO. His career has spanned multiple industries, most recently as regional VP of operations for a food company. Canadian Hydro is a developer and operator of 20 power generation facilities encompassing water, wind and biomass technologies in B.C., Alberta, Ontario and Quebec. Its head office is in Calgary.
Birch Mountain Resources Ltd. (TSX, Amex:BMD) has appointed Shankar Nandiwada as acting CFO. He brings skills in accounting, strategic planning and financial reporting. Nandiwada replaces John Clarke, who has completed a six-month contract with BMD and is seeking other opportunities. Birch Mountain provides limestone to the oilsands industry and for aggregate products.
Rick Daniel, president of Teneo Energy Ltd., has become president and CEO of Era Gas Storage Inc.
following Era's acquisition of Teneo in an all-share transaction. Garry McCarroll assumes the role of Era's VP of engineering. Era is a Calgary-based North American storage developer. Teneo is a natural gas storage investment and advisory firm.
Trimac Income Fund (TSX: TMA.UN) has hired Ken McBean as interim CFO. McBean is a CA and has been engaged by Trimac over the past two years as a consultant. The fund holds an indirect interest in Trimac Transportation Services LP, one of Canada's largest providers of bulk trucking services from coast to coast. The fund is based in Calgary .
Edmonton firm Ceapro Inc. (TSXV:CZO) says president and CEO Mark Redmond has left the company. The reasons for Redmond's departure were not revealed. Independent director Gilles Gagnon will act as president and chief executive during the search period for a new CEO. Ceapro is a growth-stage biotech company developing organic products for medical, cosmetic and animal-health industries.
Newalta Income Fund (TSX: NAL.UN) has appointed Michael Borys, CA, as senior VP of finance and CFO. Prior to joining Newalta, Borys served as executive VP and CFO of The Brick Group Income Fund. Newalta Income Fund provides industrial waste management and environmental services. It is based in Calgary.
The Brick Group Income Fund (TSX: BRK.UN) has hired a new CFO. Nick Bobrow, currently senior VP for The Source by Circuit City, will be joining the Brick Group on Aug. 25.
In the interim, Jackie Beattie, VP of finance for The Brick Group, will assume the CFO role. The Brick Group retails household furniture, mattresses, appliances and home electronics. It is headquartered in Edmonton.
Rick Dawson has joined Central Alberta Well Services Corp. (TSXV:CWC.A) as VP of business development. Dawson spent 20 years with CenAlta Well Servicing and was its president when it was sold to Precision Drilling, where he spent eight years as VP of well-servicing sales. Red Deer-based CWC has just added three rigs to its stable, increasing its fleet to 41 as it expands into Saskatchewan and B.C.
