In a list of “cool” companies, it’s hard to overlook a firm that builds custom motorcycles.

Precision Frameworx bikes aren’t cheap, but customers walking into the 2,000-sq.-ft. Calgary shop aren’t looking for a bargain-basement bike (it costs $1,500-$3,000 for a frame and $30,000-$100,000 for a completed motorcycle).
Motorcycle enthusiasts who patronize this business, including motorcycle dealers, are looking for custom-built frames that suit specific requirements, while other customers are following Easy Rider dreams. “Now we are even talking with catalogue companies,” says owner Brent Robertson, referring to services that could list his frames internationally.
Robertson’s venture started as a hobby, but gradually took over his life.
Formerly a heavy-duty mechanic, today Robertson runs the only shop in Alberta that has a specific focus on building motorcycle frames – the structure that supports a motorcycle’s engine, sheet metal, fuel tank, seat, etc. Precision Frameworx ensures the bike frame suits whatever the customer demands, sometimes assembling an entire bike.
If it’s any sign of the quality of Robertson’s handiwork, at Calgary’s most recent World of Wheels, a Precision Frameworx frame was part of the bike that placed “best in show.”
