Henry Sykes has been appointed president at Conoco Canada Limited. The appointment follows the acquisition of Gulf Canada by Conoco.
Sykes joined Gulf Canada in 1998 as senior vice-president, business development and general counsel, later becoming executive vice-president, business development.
Conoco is an integrated energy company active in more than 40 countries. Meanwhile, Gulf Indonesia Resources Limited has named Paul Warwick president, CEO and a director of Gulf Indonesia, replacing William Fanagan. Warwick was previously the president and managing director, Conoco Energy Nigeria Limited.
Conoco Inc. recently acquired a 72-per-cent interest in Gulf Indonesia as a result of its takeover of Gulf Canada Resources Limited.
Gulf Indonesia, headquartered in Jakarta, is an independent upstream oil and gas company.

Dr. Terry Klassen has been appointed to the Scientific Advisory Board of WavePOINT Systems Inc., based in Edmonton.
Klassen, currently chair of the University of Alberta Department of Pediatrics and clinical leader for the Capital Health Authority’s Child Health Program, has ongoing interests in developing evidence for decisions in child health.
He is also leader of the Child Health Field in the Cochrane Collaboration, an international organization that aims to help people make well-informed decisions about health care by preparing, maintaining and ensuring the accessibility of systematic reviews of the effects of health-care interventions.
WavePOINT (WVP-CDNX) focuses on the development and delivery of products and services to improve the attentional, behavioural and cognitive abilities of individuals diagnosed with attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder.

Internet access firm Guest-Tek has named sales vice-president Paul Sullivan as its new chief executive officer.
Sullivan joined the Calgary-based company in January this year and was a key player in the launch of Guest-Tek offices in Chicago, Atlanta and Minneapolis. Prior to Guest-Tek, Sullivan was CEO and co-founder of Noteable!, a technology consulting firm providing contact management, time and expense-tracking software.
Guest-Tek founder Arnon Levy will serve as Guest-Tek’s new executive vice-president in charge of special projects and new product development. Sullivan will also continue as sales VP until a replacement is found.
Guest-Tek delivers broadband visitor-based networking (VBN) solutions to businesses serving mobile users. Head-quartered in Calgary and Chicago, Guest-Tek has served the hospitality and related industries since 1996.

Robert Blackshaw, former president and CEO of Calgary-based application service provider Ivrnet Inc., has moved into the role of chairman and CEO, while Dan Moore, former senior vice-president of Industrial eSolutions, has been appointed Ivrnet’s president and CEO.
Company directors have also appointed former controller Ryan Albizzati as vice-president and chief financial officer, while Clare McMullen, formerly director of development, is now the vice-president and chief technology officer.
The company’s board also announced that Jon Constable, former vice-president of operations and CFO, and Jae Hendrickson, former vice-president of sales, have left the company effective immediately.
Alastair Robertson has resigned his position as board chairman, but remains a director of the corporation.

Bryan Benitz has been appointed chairman of Calgary-based Monroe Minerals Inc., which until recently was known as Blue Ice Minerals Limited (BLE-CDNX). Shareholders recently approved the name change and other senior appointments, which include naming Derek Moran as president and chief executive officer, Christopher Woodward as chief financial officer, and Peter Farkas as board secretary. Also approved was the new board of directors, which includes Benitz, Farkas, Moran and Jack Perraton and Henry Tondowski.
Monroe is involved in the exploration and development of gem quality diamond resource properties in South Africa.

Bonli, a chartered accountant, has spent more than 15 years in the oil and gas sector.
