RBC has named Janice Fukakusa as chief administrative officer in addition to her role as CFO. Morten Friis, chief risk officer, has been appointed to RBC's group executive, the bank's most senior management committee. Fukakusa joined RBC in 1985; Friis joined in 1979 and was appointed chief risk officer in 2004. RBC (TSX:RY) has its head office in Toronto.

Sherritt International Corp. (TSX:S) chairman Ian Delaney is assuming the duties of CEO as Jowdat Waheed takes a leave of absence. The international resource extractor said that Waheed, who was promoted to CEO in January 2005, requested time off "to deal with a family health matter.”

Sherritt's brief statement gave no specifics of how long Waheed is expected to be off the job. The Toronto-headquartered company has interests in cobalt, coal, and oil and gas.

John Geha has been named president of Coldwell Banker Canadian operations. He will succeed retiring president Gary Hockey, who will remain on a consulting basis to assist Geha with specific growth initiatives. Geha has consulted with Coldwell Banker affiliates across Canada during the past 10 years. There are currently 266 Coldwell Banker offices in this country, with operations headquartered in Burlington.

Douglas Willock says he has been terminated as chief executive of Polar Star Mining Corp. (TSXV:PSR) as a "direct result" of his attempt to overturn the junior mining company's board of directors. Willock said recently he had gathered a majority of shareholders seeking a meeting to overturn the company's board. Willock owns about 10 percent of the company. Polar Star, which became publicly listed through a reverse takeover in mid-2007, has 17 exploration projects in Chile, as well as a property near Stewart, B.C., in partnership with Goldeye Explorations. Its head office is in Toronto.

George Mavroudis has been named president of Guardian Capital Group Ltd. (TSX:GCG). Mavroudis has been with the company since 2005 as senior VP of strategic planning and development. Guardian is a diversified financial services company with head office in Toronto.

ARISE Technologies Corp. (TSX:APV) says that board chairman Vern Heinrichs has been named interim president and CEO following Bart Tichelman's resignation. ARISE is focused on solar technology. Its head office is in Waterloo.

Tri-White Corp. (TSX:TWH) has named Robert Visentin as CFO. Visentin is CFO of ClubLink Corp. and replaces Robert Wright, who takes the new post of vice-president. Merchant banker Tri-White is the largest shareholder, at about 72 percent, in ClubLink. Its head office is in Toronto.

C.A. Bancorp Inc. (TSX:BKP) says that Mark MacDonald has resigned as managing director of private investments for the Toronto company. C.A. Bancorp is a merchant bank and alternative asset manager focused on investments in small- and mid-cap public and private companies.

SonnenEnergy Corp. (TSXV:PWR) says that Hans Hager has been appointed president and CEO following the resignation of Jeff Dennis. John Gamble has resigned as CFO and executive VP of special operations. SonnenEnergy is a solar power systems integrator and solar power producer. Its head office is in Toronto.

Ted Tofflemire has been named CEO of Partner Jet Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Partner Jet Corp. (TSXV:PJT). Tofflemire has been an employee of Partner Jet Inc. since 2000 and had been its operations manager since 2004. Bruce Reilly, CA, has been appointed CFO. Reilly brings more than 20 years of senior management and public accounting experience. Partner Jet Corp. has specialized in executive private travel for more than a decade. Its head office is in Mississauga.

Pelangio Exploration Inc. (TSXV:PX) says it has named Chris Pegg as VP of exploration for Africa. Pegg had been consulting for the company in Ghana since May 2006. Brendan Cahill has been named counsel and corporate secretary. Cahill has been counsel to Pelangio since January 2008. Warren Bates has been promoted to senior VP of exploration. Pelangio is a gold exploration company headquartered in Milton.

Wellpoint Health Services, a private-sector company focused on providing preventive and diagnostic health services to corporations and families, has promoted Shameer Dada to president. Dada had been the Toronto company's VP of operations since early 2008.

Publicis Canada says Andrew Bruce has been named its president and COO. He replaces Serge Rancourt, who recently left the agency. Duncan Bruce has been appointed managing partner, executive VP and creative director of Publicis Toronto. Publicis Canada is a member of the Publicis Groupe, one of the world's largest communications groups. It is headquartered in Toronto.

Sandy Struthers has been named CFO of Hydro One Inc. He joined Hydro One in 2000 as a director in the finance area and has held a number of positions. Hydro One Inc. is a holding company that operates electricity transmission and distribution, and telecom businesses through its subsidiaries. It is wholly owned by the Province of Ontario and has its head office in Toronto.

The Ottawa Chamber of Commerce has named Erin Kelly as its executive director. Kelly joins the chamber from Bell Canada, where she was focused on the small-business market. The Ottawa chamber has more than 750 members.
