Dick Whittington is the new chief operating officer for Vancouver-based Farallon Resources Ltd. (FAN-TSX).
Whittington has more than 28 years of industry experience in the management and evaluation of major
mining projects in Canada, Panama and Australia.
Peter Guest has been appointed president and chief executive of Manhattan Minerals Corp. (MAN-TSX), based in Vancouver.
Guest held similar positions with companies including Gabriel Resources, Iriana Resources, International Dunlop Minerals and Galactic Resources.
Western Canadian Coal Corp. is making changes at the top.
Gary Livingstone has been named president and CEO of the Vancouver-based company (WTN-TSXV). He previously served as president of companies including Westar Mining Ltd., Luscar Ltd. and Andalex Resources.
Since 1993, he has served as president and CEO of the Mining Association of British Columbia.
As well, Kathleen Pomeroy has been appointed vice-president, environmental and regulatory. Pomeroy has 20 years of experience in the field.
The company has also appointed Peter Olson as projects manager. He brings 30 years of northern mining construction and project management
experience.
