Armando Plastino has been named CEO of Essar Steel Algoma Inc. Plastino became COO of Essar Steel Algoma (formerly Algoma Steel Inc.) in February 2008. Essar Steel Algoma is an integrated steel producer based in Sault Ste. Marie. It was acquired in June 2007 by Essar Steel Holdings Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Essar Global Ltd.

Sulliden Exploration Inc. (TSX: SUE) has announced a new executive management team. Peter Tagliamonte, P.Eng., will become president effective in September. Tagliamonte was formerly the president and CEO of Central Sun Mining. John Kearney will remain president and CEO through the transition period until September and thereafter sit on the board. Scott Moore has become executive VP for corporate development and Joe Milbourne has become VP of technical services. Moore brings more than 20 years in the resource and durable goods sector. Milbourne was most recently VP of technical services for WildHorse Energy. Sulliden is a mining company focused on the development of its Shahuindo gold and silver project. Metalcorp Ltd. (TSXV:MTC) says it has decided not to renew its contracts with Eveleigh Geological Services Inc. Aubrey Eveleigh's appointment as COO and VP of exploration has been terminated. Metalcorp says Eveleigh and his company will provide support during the transition process and he remains a director. Donald Sheldon has been named acting CFO, replacing Tom Mustapic. Mustapic will provide support on an as-required basis until the completion of the Metalcorp's year-end financial statements and related matters. Metalcorp is a junior resource company with offices in Toronto and Thunder Bay. It is exploring for base and precious metals throughout the Canadian Shield.
