Pacific Safety Products Inc. (TSXV:PSP) has reorganized its executive team. John Allen, a principal partner in the APS Distributors business recently acquired by PSP, will become executive VP of operations. Gerald Bush has resigned as COO and president. Bush's responsibilities will be assumed by CEO David Scott. PSP sells safety products for the defence and security markets, including body armour, tactical clothing and emergency medical kits. Its corporate office is in Kelowna.
Kola Mining Corp. (TSXV:KM) has appointed Igor Kovarsky as president and a director. Cary Pinkowski will remain as CEO and chairman. Prior to joining Kola Mining, Kovarsky worked with Centerra Gold Inc. and its predecessor Cameco Gold since 1992. Kola is a junior miner with head office in Vancouver.
Abacus Mining & Exploration Corp. (TSXV:AME) has hired Andrew Pooler as executive VP and COO. For the last five years, Pooler has been senior VP of mine operations for Pan American Silver Corp. Abacus is an exploration and development company with five mineral properties in the Afton-Ajax Camp near Kamloops. Its corporate office is in Vancouver.
Fireswirl Technologies Inc. (TSXV:FSW) has appointed Tony Lau, an existing officer and director of the company, as interim chief financial officer, replacing Renato Finamore. Based in New Westminster, Fireswirl engineers electronic and mobile commerce services for content providers.
Eric Sorensen has retired as a director, president and chief executive officer of Sun-Rype Products Ltd. (TSX:SRF). Dave McAnerney, currently Sun-Rype's vice-president of operations, has been confirmed as the interim president and CEO. Sun-Rype, based in Kelowna, markets juices and fruit snacks under the Sun-Rype brand.
Castle Gold Corp. (TSXV:CSG) has filled the position of VP of operations. Federico Alvarez, who will be based in Mexico, was most recently director of mining affairs for the Mexican state of Guanajuato. In other company moves, Darren Koningen will assume the role of VP for project development. Castle Gold is currently expanding gold production within the Americas. Its head office is in Vancouver.
Madison Pacific Properties Inc. (TSX:MPC), a Vancouver-based real estate company, has named a new CFO and secretary. William Ramsey replaces Thor Olsen, who is retiring. Ramsey has been employed as a CFO in the real estate development and investment business for 20+ years.
Golden Harp Resources Inc. (TSXV:GHR) has promoted Natasha Blackburn to president and CEO.
She has been a director as well as COO and VP. Golden Harp is a mineral exploration company active in Northern Ontario. Its corporate office is in Vancouver.
Diamond Fields International Ltd. (TSX:DFI) has named Gooroodeo Sookun as CFO. He replaces Waldo Pienaar, who has resigned to pursue other business interests. Sookun has been a director of the Vancouver company since May 2007. DFI is mining for diamonds in Namibia.
Ecometals Ltd. (TSXV:EML) has named Daniel Major as COO. Major comes to Ecometals from Basic Element, where he was CEO of the resource division. Ecometals is a Vancouver-based exploration and development company focused on mineral resources in Latin America.
LNG Energy Ltd. (TSXV:LNG) has appointed Danny Lee as CFO. Most recently, Lee served as CFO of Transeuro Energy Corp. He replaces Kathleen Butt, who has resigned. LNG is a Vancouver-based exploration company looking at liquefied natural gas opportunities in Papua New Guinea.
Wyn Developments Inc. (TSXV: WL) has made changes to the management team of its spinout company Wyn Metals Inc. Daniel Kesonen, chairman and a director of Wyn Developments, becomes president and CEO. Dennis Espadilla, the COO of MRD Management and Development Corp., becomes CFO. Based in Vancouver, Wyn Developments is a Western Canada-focused junior resource company with both mineral and natural gas assets. With the spinout of its mineral assets into Wyn Metals and capital restructuring, Wyn Developments will focus on natural gas and change its name to Canada Gas Corp.
Premium Exploration, Inc. (TSXV:PEM) has appointed Barney Portillo as VP of mining development in Mexico. Portillo currently serves as a director of Premium. The Vancouver-based company is focused on precious metals exploration in North America, with an acquisitions focus on Mexico.
Colombian Mines Corp. (TSXV:CMJ) has named Robert Carrington as president. Nathan Tewalt will remain CEO. Carrington will continue to spend time in Colombia running operations, while Tewalt will continue to manage the business front in Canada. Vancouver-based Columbian acquires and develops production opportunities in Colombia.
Xantrex Technology Inc. (TSX: XTX) has appointed Bruce Cousins as its CFO effective June 1, replacing Jay Biskupski, who is no longer with Xantrex. Sarah MacKinnon, currently director of finance, has been appointed interim CFO until May 31. Cousins had been with Aspreva Pharmaceuticals since March 2004 as executive VP and CFO. Xantrex makes power electronic products and systems such as solar, wind, flywheels, microturbines and fuel cells, and backup portable power systems. It is headquartered in Vancouver.
Alan Hitchborn is the new VP of exploration for Aura Minerals Inc. (TSX:ORA). For the past 10 years, Hitchborn worked in the junior exploration sector. Aura is a Vancouver exploration company focused on mineral deposits in Brazil and the rest of the Americas.
Verne Pecho has relinquished the role of CFO for Optimal Geomatics Inc. (TSXV:OPG) to become director of strategy. Vienna Lin, who has served as Optimal's controller for the past four years, becomes director of finance and administration. Optimal provides geographic information for engineering and geospatial professionals. Its head office is in Vancouver.
Rainmaker Income Fund (TSX:RNK.UN) named Bryant Pike as the fund's new CFO. Pike joins the fund from Insight Film Studios Ltd., where he had been acting as a consultant. He replaces Mike Barnsley, who will help with the transition. The Vancouver-based fund indirectly owns Rainmaker Entertainment Inc., a producer of computer-generated animated feature films, direct-to-DVD films, games and commercials.
Peter Chadwick has been appointed as VP of exploration for Africa for Atomic Minerals Ltd. (TSXV:ATL). Chadwick brings more than 24 years of experience in the mining exploration industry in Africa. Based in Vancouver, Atomic is focused on claims in Tanzania and Colorado.
Kasian, an architecture and interior design firm, has made three promotions: Roger Graham to VP of marketing, Deborah Louvier to VP of human resources and Alan Wrong to VP of information technology. All three are based in Kasian's Vancouver office. Graham and Wrong both joined Kasian in 2005, while Louvier is a recent arrival. Kasian has eight offices in Canada, Asia and the Middle East.
Preet Marwaha has joined Circon Systems as director of business development. Marwaha has held senior business development and channel management roles at a number of tech companies. Ken Piaggio also has joined the company in the role of director of operations. Piaggio brings an international manufacturing and customer services background. Circon is a privately held provider of open, interoperable and integrated facility automation products and services. Its corporate office is in Richmond.
