Algonquin Power Income Fund of Oakville has appointed Vito Ciciretto as chief operating officer. Ciciretto, an accountant, brings 20 years experience in general management, manufacturing and finance. He was most recently executive program director for Honeywell Aerospace.

Rory Olson is the new CEO of Neutron Enterprises Inc. (OTCBB: NTRN), a developer of technology-based proprietary point-of-sale and digital media solutions. He replaces Andrew Gertler, who remains as chairman of the board.

Olson was recently COO of privately held Airborne Entertainment.

Neutron develops technology-based proprietary point-of-sale and digital media solutions that include Elumalite and Ultra-Glo.

Cipher Pharmaceuticals Inc. (TSX:DND) has appointed Jason Gross to the newly created post of vice-president of scientific affairs.

Gross has been in the pharmaceutical industry for more than 14 years, most recently as a venture partner and VP of scientific affairs at MDS Capital Corp.

Gross studied marketing and management prior to receiving his doctor of pharmacy from the University of Arizona.

Cipher Pharmaceuticals is a drug development company focused on commercializing novel formulations of successful, currently marketed molecules using advanced drug delivery technologies.

Golden China Resources Corp. (TSXV:AUC) says Michael Hitch has left his position as vice-president of exploration and development.

Golden China is in the final stages of a business combination with Michelago Ltd. of Australia, which will position the amalgamated company as a major foreign producer of gold in China.

Toronto-based Golden China Resources Corp. is focused on the exploration and development, operations and merchant banking in the Chinese precious metal industry.

Uruguay Mineral Exploration Inc. (TSXV:UME) has appointed George Schroer as VP of exploration effective July 15.

He was most recently exploration manager for Bolivar Gold Corp. Mike Schwabe retires as head of exploration, but will work with the company in Uruguay as a consulting geologist.

The Mining Association of Canada has elected Derek Pannell, CEO of Falconbridge Ltd., as its chairman. He succeeds Richard Ross, president and CEO of Inmet Mining Corp.

Pannell is a metallurgical engineer with more than 35 years of experience in the mining and metals industry.

Based in Ottawa, MAC is the national organization for the Canadian mining industry.

Calpine Corp. (OTC: CPNLQ) has named Gregory Doody as executive VP, general counsel and secretary.

He was previously executive VP, general counsel and secretary at HealthSouth Corp.

Nancy Murray, who had been serving as Calpine's interim general counsel, remains in her position as senior VP.
