Stephen Sibold will step down as chairman of the Alberta Securities Commission (ASC) next spring.

Sibold was appointed chair and CEO of the commission in May 2000 for a five-year term.

The Alberta Securities Commission is the industry-funded regulatory agency responsible for administering the Alberta Securities Act.

Wenzel Downhole Tools Ltd. has named its president to replace outgoing chief executive Henry Boychuk, who has resigned as CEO but will remain on the energy equipment company’s board.

The Calgary company said its board has appointed Maurice Minvielle to replace Boychuk, effective immediately.

Minvielle joined the company as chief financial officer and has been president for the last two years.

Wenzel (TSX:WZL) designs and manufactures downhole drilling tools used primarily by oil and natural gas drillers. The company rents, leases, services and sells tools.

Endev Energy Inc. has appointed Cameron MacGillivray, a longtime employee of EnCana Corp. and its predecessor firm PanCanadian Petroleum, as president and chief executive.

He replaces John Driscoll, who has been interim president and CEO since Randy Harrison left as president and chief operating officer in May.

Driscoll will continue to serve as director and chairman of the board.

MacGillivray is a geotechnical engineer with more than 30 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. Most recently, he was senior vice-president for a division of EnCana, where he was responsible for six departments.

Greg Noval, president and CEO of Canadian Superior Energy Inc., has resumed the role of chief operating officer.

Former COO Harvey. Klingensmith has resigned and is no longer an officer of the company.
