Business and consumer software maker Corel Corp. has announced a new executive vice-president of sales and marketing for the Americas.

Patrick Morley has more than 18 years of experience. Before joining Corel, he was CEO of Imprivata. Corel provides software, including the CorelDraw graphics suite and WordPerfect office suite. Its headquarters are in Ottawa.

Carmaker Audi Canada has named Diego Ramos as its new chief executive. Before taking the Canadian post, Ramos had been the sales and marketing director for Latin America at Audi's German offices. The company has moved its Canadian headquarters to Ajax.

Automated Benefits Corp. (TSXV:AUT) has appointed Eric Embacher to the new position of chief software architect, as well as adding new sales and marketing executives to its wholly owned subsidiary Symbility Solutions Inc.

Embacher will lead Symbility's wireless solution for claims automation.

Jim Crocker has been appointed president of Symbility. Crocker has worked for a number of technology companies.

Rod Theoret joins Symbility as VP for product marketing. He has previously worked for Descartes Systems Group and Oracle Corp.

Brent Barber has also joined the Symbility team as an account executive focusing on the Canadian region.

Lynne Zimmerman has accepted the position of marketing manager. Prior to joining Symbility, Zimmerman held management positions at Cowan Insurance Brokers and Noble Insurance.

Automated Benefits Corp., headquartered in Toronto, is a software company that develops applications for the insurance industry.

As a result of the completion of the takeover bid for O&Y Real Estate Investment Trust (TSX:OYR.UN), Philip Reichmann, CEO, Frank Hauer, president, and Raghunath Davloor, CFO, have resigned from the company. Replacing them are Thomas Farley as president and CEO, and Craig Laurie as CFO.

O&Y Real Estate Investment Trust is a closed-end trust that invests in office buildings in major markets across Canada. Its headquarters are in Toronto.

Brett Channer has been named as the CEO and executive creative director of Saatchi and Saatchi Canada.

Saatchi and Saatchi also announced that Johann Xavier, who has been with the company for more than 10 years, is the new COO.

Saatchi and Saatchi Canada is part of the Publicis Groupe, the world's fourth-largest communications group, and has Canadian offices in Toronto, Vancouver and Montreal.

TD Bank Financial Group has named a new chief financial officer in the most prominent of a series of senior executive moves.

Colleen Johnston has become CFO and executive vice-president. Johnston was previously executive vice-president of finance.

She succeeds Dan Marinangeli, who becomes executive VP for corporate development. Marinangeli will also be a director of TD Ameritrade, 39 per cent owned by TD after the merger of the Ameritrade online brokerage with TD Waterhouse USA.

Bob Dorrance becomes group head of wholesale banking and chairman and CEO of TD Securities, retaining his title of vice-chair of TD Bank Financial Group.

Bernie Dorval's new position is group head of business banking and insurance, and co-chairman of TD Canada Trust.

Bill Ryan, another TD Bank vice-chair, is group head of U.S. personal and commercial banking as well as chairman, CEO and president of New England bank TD Banknorth.

Bharat Masrani, formerly executive VP of risk management, gets the new title of vice-chairman and chief risk officer, centralizing risk management, audit, legal and compliance functions.

Advantex Marketing International Inc. (TSX:ADX) has appointed Kelly Ambrose as president and COO. From 1999 to 2005, he led News Marketing Canada, a unit of News Corp.

Advantex Marketing is a marketing services company specializing in integrated marketing solutions for merchant and channel partners. Its headquarters are in Toronto.

The Canadian Association of Chain Drug Stores (CACDS) has named Allan Malek as vice-president for pharmacy. Malek has most recently consulted for pharmacies and health-care marketing agencies in support of ongoing programs and proposals.

The 22 members of CACDS represent traditional chain drugstores, grocery chains and mass merchandisers with pharmacies.

Liponex Inc. (TSX:LPX), an Ottawa-based biopharmaceutical company specializing in developing advanced products related to "good cholesterol," has appointed Kenneth Sokoll as VP of drug development. Prior to joining Liponex, Sokoll spent four years at United Biomedical Inc.

DaimlerChrysler Canada now has a Canadian-born president and chief executive officer with the Nov. 1 appointment of Steven Landry. He succeeds Mark Norman.

Landry is a 23-year Chrysler employee who joined the Windsor-based company in 1982 as a regional distribution analyst.

Minacs Worldwide Inc. (TSX:MXW) has appointed Keyvan Cohanim as chief sales and marketing officer.

Cohanim held several vice-presidential positions at IBM prior to joining Minacs.

Minacs, whose head office is in Toronto, provides customized business process outsourcing services.

Certicom Corp. (TSX:CIC) has named William Lattin as chief technology officer. He brings more than 20 years of experience in the security industry in the development of encryption products and standards. For the past nine years, Lattin was the managing director of SecureField.

Certicom security offerings are currently licensed to more than 300 customers.

Its corporate offices are in Mississauga.
