There has been a resignation at Hesperian Capital Management Ltd.
Former chief financial officer and portfolio manager Evan Spiropoulos has left the firm effective April 20, 2004.
Hesperian president Randy Oliver, who co-managed the Norrep Fund and the Norrep II Fund Inc. with Spiropoulos, will continue as portfolio manager of both funds.
Hesperian is a Calgary-based investment manager that manages the Norrep Group of Funds, which have about $150 million in combined assets.

Linda Van Gastel has become the 85th president of the Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists and Geophysicists of Alberta (APEGGA). She is the association’s second woman president.
Van Gastel has served APEGGA for 13 years, including five years on council. She is retired from PanCanadian Petroleum Ltd. (now EnCana) and lives in Calgary.
She is joined on APEGGA’s council executive by past-president Mike Smyth, president-elect Larry Staples and former council member and newly elected vice-president Dave Chalcroft.
Established in 1920, APEGGA is responsible for regulating the practice of engineering, geology and geophysics in Alberta.
J. Richard Carlson is the new president and CEO of Wireless Matrix Corp.
Most recently, Carlson was president and CEO of U.S. Inspect, LLC, the United States’ largest non-franchise home inspection business.
Calgary-based Wireless Matrix (WRX-TSX) is a developer and provider of wireless data services.
CodeBaby Corp. has expanded its North American sales network by hiring Stephen Green as business development director.
Green, who will work from the Edmonton-based com-pany’s Toronto office, has more than 20 years of experience in international marketing, sales and business development.
CodeBaby provides web-based virtual agent technology.
Pd&e Resource Services Corp. of Calgary has appointed Jim Ashbaugh to the position of CFO and vice-president.
Ashbaugh has more than 10 years of experience with a major public oil service company, most recently as controller of its well-servicing division.
Pd&e (PDE-TSXV) develops products that address current safety and energy efficiency issues facing the industrial and oilfield services industry.
