Linda Orr has been promoted to the rank of vice-president of marketing for the Calgary Stampeders football club.

The native Calgarian joined the Stampeders as a student intern in 1993 and subsequently served as marketing representative, co-ordinator of the Stamps’ Red and White Club and, most recently, director of special projects.
In her new role, Orr will oversee the development and execution of club promotions and advertising, and continue to oversee game-day operations.
Changes are under way at Capitol Energy Resources Ltd., formerly known as Cell-Loc Inc.
Monty Bowers has been appointed president and chief executive officer of the new energy company. Most recently, he was vice-president of exploration for Petromet Resources Limited.
John Lamacchia has been appointed vice-president of engineering and operations, while John Nesbitt takes on the role as vice-president, land.
Lamacchia was previously operations manager at Nycan Energy and Nesbitt was senior landman at Talisman Energy.
Collectively, the team brings 70 years of industry experience throughout the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin.
Royal Host REIT is undergoing changes at the top. Greg Royer has been appointed chief executive officer of the company (RYL.UN-TSX; RYL.DB-TSX). Royer joined Royal Host in April as chief operations officer.
Randy Royer will continue as president of the Calgary-based investment trust.
Elmer Pelensky has been named vice-president of acquisitions and business development for Cavell Energy Corporation (KVL-TSX).
Pelensky brings more than 25 years of oil and gas engineering experience to Cavell, including senior management roles with companies including Husky Energy.
Calgary-based Cavell is a junior oil and natural gas exploration, development and production company.
Judy Hoad and Kevan Kadner have been named to the board of the Alberta Real Estate Foundation (AREF).
Hoad is currently manager of public engagement for the City of Calgary and is a former executive director of the Calgary Police Commission. She is also a former community development worker and past alderman and regional councillor in Kitchener, Ont.
Ladner, a broker/owner of First Commercial Real Estate Ltd. in Calgary, has nearly 15 years of real estate experience. He is a past chair of the Real Estate Council of Alberta.
As well, Dallas McDonald of Royal Lepage Red Deer Real Estate Ltd. has been appointed the new chair of the foundation’s board of governors. He is the 2002 Alberta Real Estate Association (AREA) president.
Lorne Clarke (broker/owner RE/MAX Advantage in Edmonton) and Tim Walsh (broker/owner of RE/MAX Fort McMurray) have also been recently appointed board members.
AREF is a legislated industry foundation that supports real estate-related initiatives.
Since 1991, the foundation has awarded more than $6 million in funding to projects throughout the province.
Real estate developer Maclab Enterprises has promoted Sylvia Harder to the position of VP, land development. In this role, Harder will be responsible for the operations and growth of Maclab’s land development division. She has been Maclab’s manager of land development since 1997.
Edmonton-based Maclab is a privately held real-estate development firm.
Dave Ogle has been appointed director of client services for Ascend Strategies Inc. He will oversee all aspects of business development and operations.
Ogle was most recently operations manager with Heritage Pointe Lake Developments Ltd. but has a multitude of experience in finance, IT, operations, sales and human resources.
