Suncor Energy Inc. has reached into its senior ranks to make a new appointment to the company's corporate management team.

Jay Thornton becomes the senior vice-president of business integration. Thornton has been employed with Suncor for nearly five years, most recently as the senior VP of strategy for business development and services at the company's oilsands operation.

Suncor Energy (TSX:SU, NYSE:SU) is an integrated energy company headquartered in Calgary.

Peak Energy Services Trust says its chief operating officer, Curt Whitteron, has also become president of the trust.

Whitteron joined Peak as vice'-president of operations in August 1996 and was promoted to the position of chief operating officer in 2003.

Calgary-based Peak (TSX:PES.UN) is a diversified oilfield services trust providing equipment and services to the energy industry throughout Western Canada and United States.

Arapahoe Energy Corp. (TSXV:AAO) has appointed Brenda Stanger to the position of chief financial officer.

For the past 20 years, Stanger has been the president of Wolfwind Ventures Inc.

Arapahoe is a junior oil and natural gas exploration company focused primarily on the Alberta Foothills, specifically on the Tsuu T'ina First Nation.

Watch Resources Ltd. (TSXV:WR) has made two appointments to its executive suite.

Paul Watson becomes company president, replacing Steven Bruk, who has resigned. Randy Buchanan becomes chief operating officer.

Watson is the former VP of exploration for Barrington Petroleum Ltd. Buchanan has more than 30 years of oil and gas industry experience.

Calgary-based Watch is engaged in the exploration and production of petroleum and natural gas.

Canadian Spirit Resources Inc. has appointed Brian Mahood as vice-president of exploration/operations.

Mahood has spent the last 10 years in senior management and consulting roles.

Canadian Spirit (TSXV:SPI) is a Calgary-based natural resources firm focusing on the exploration and development of natural gas from coal.

Mike Donnell has resigned after a year and a half as president and CEO of Zi Corp. (TSX:ZIC).

Company founder and chairman Michael Lobsinger will be interim CEO while a board committee seeks a successor.

Donnell, who joined Zi in July 2003 as COO and succeeded Lobsinger as CEO four months later, said there has been "substantial accomplishment" during his time as chief executive, but "regrettably, I do not think it is in the best interests of my family to continue the commute from Denver to Calgary."
