KS Biomedix Holdings plc has appointed David Cox as the new CEO of its manufacturing subsidiary, KS Avicenna Inc., based in Edmonton. He will manage both in-house manufacturing operations and KSB’s contract business.
Cox was previously CEO of SYNSORB Biotech Inc. KS Biomedix is a biopharmaceutical company headquartered in the U.K. that is developing a pipeline of cancer drugs.
Rider Resources Inc. of Calgary is making changes at the executive level.
Randall Faminow has been named vice-president of land, while Ben Anderson takes on the role of vice- president of engineering.
Faminow brings more than 20 years of experience in land, evaluations and business development, most recently with the Enerplus Group of Companies. Anderson has two decades of industry experience in senior management and operations positions.
As well, Rider (RRI-TSX) has hired geologists Jeff Wallace and Terry Pearson plus geophysicist Rob Richards to its technical team. They and new operations manager Jamie Pedersen join Rider from Husky Energy/Renaissance.
Nancy Dundas, meanwhile, joins the firm as controller. She has more than 15 years’ experience in the oil and gas finance sector.
David Richard is the new chief executive officer of Kelman Technologies Inc., based in Calgary.
Richard has been with the firm since September 1999, most recently as president and chief operating officer. He has more than 20 years of experience in the technology industry.
Kelman (KTI-TSX) provides seismic processing and online data archival and data management services to clients in 45 countries around the world.
Vice-president marketing William (Bill) Brown has resigned from Questor Technology Inc. to pursue other interests.
The Calgary company said it does not intend to fill the vacancy in the near term in an effort to control costs in a difficult market. Questor (QST-TSXV) develops environmental technologies for the oil and natural gas
Shaker Resources Inc. has hired Bernie Dumanowski as its VP, operations. Dumanowski comes to Shaker with 15 years of progressive operations experience, the majority spent with Renaissance Energy.

Joan Dunne is the new vice-president of finance and chief financial officer at True Energy Inc.
Dunne has more than 20 years’ financial experience in the oil and gas industry, most recently as a finance, tax and investor relations consultant.
True Energy (TUT-TSX) is a Calgary-based oil and natural gas exploration and production company with producing assets in two core areas in Alberta and Saskatchewan.
Edmonton-based BioMS Medical Corp. has appointed Don Kimak as chief financial officer.
Kimak has more than 25 years of related experience, and is a former controller at NQL Drilling Tools Inc. BioMS Medical Corp. (MS-TSX) is a biopharmaceutical company dedicated to the development and commercialization of innovative therapies.
Jim Malner is the new president and chief executive officer of Consumer Strategic Group Inc.
Malner is a longtime partner in the Alberta firm and former president of the company’s Edmonton office. Mark Love will continue as the strategic director of the marketing consultancy firm, which is based in Edmonton but has a Calgary office.
