Neotel International Inc. (TSXV:NIT) has hired Cam Johnston in the new position of senior vice-president and chief technology officer.
Johnson will oversee Neotel's information technology security offerings and its biometric development strategy. The company says he has 20 years of experience in developing and delivering security services to companies and government organizations.
Neotel provides IT, security, privacy and biometrics identification products and services. Its head office is in Markham.
CryptoLogic Inc. has appointed veteran financial management executive Stephen Taylor as the gambling software company's new chief financial officer.
Taylor, a chartered accountant, is a former executive at Ernst & Young.
CryptoLogic's head office is in Toronto.
Banro Corp. (TSXV, AMEX:BAA) of Toronto has promoted Michael Skead to exploration vice-president.
Skead, who is currently Banro's exploration manager, works at the company's exploration office in Bukavu. Banro is a gold exploration company focused on for four projects in the Congo.
CIBC's chief risk officer and vice-chairman Wayne Fox will retire on Sept. 1 after almost 33 years with the bank, CIBC said.
Steve McGirr, president of CIBC World Markets - the bank's investment arm - will replace Fox as the bank's chief risk officer, treasury and risk management, it added.
McGirr joined CIBC Wood Gundy in 1984 following six years with various federal government departments and Crown corporations.
Gennum Corp. (TSX: GND) has announced the hiring of Gordon Currie as senior vice-president for finance and administration and CFO. He has most recently been VP and CFO at Wescast Industries Inc.
The company said Currie has 27 years of experience in the financial management of large multinational organizations.
Gennum makes hybrid and silicon integrated circuits, electrical components and sub-systems for the video and audio markets. It has offices in Burlington and Ottawa.
GMP Capital Corp. (TSX: GMP) says that Christine Drake is joining the firm as CFO and corporate secretary. Drake brings extensive experience in the Canadian capital markets, most recently as managing director and controller at the brokerage arm of one of the major banks.
GMP said Adina Masson-Crocker has resigned as CFO and corporate secretary to pursue other interests. She will remain at GMP for a short time for an orderly transition, GMP said.
