Andrea Cattaneo became president and CEO with the sudden resignation of Jose Ramon Lopez-Portillo, due to other business obligations that had arisen. Lopez-Portillo will remain a board member and has been elected its vice-chairman. Cattaneo has given up the role of COO. Canoel is an oil and gas exploration company with head office in Calgary.

John MacMillan has become the new president and CEO of Blue Parrot Energy Inc. (TSXV:BPA), replacing Paul Patton, who has assumed the role of COO. Glenn Hamilton has been appointed CFO. The company is issuing 4,940,000 common shares to former employees to settle outstanding debts. Blue Parrot is a Calgary-based oil and natural gas company.

Chartwell Technology Inc. (TSX:CWH) has appointed Lee Richardson as CEO of Chartwell Games (International) Ltd., its wholly owned subsidiary. Richardson rejoins Calgary-based Chartwell, where he was previously CEO of Chartwell Games Corp. until 2007. Richardson will be based in Europe. He replaces Jim Godsell, who is pursuing other opportunities. Chartwell provides gaming software systems and entertainment content to the online and remote gaming industry.

SemBioSys Genetics Inc. (TSX:SBS) says its previous president and CEO, Andrew Baum, has been appointed to the new position of president and CEO of Botaneco Specialty Ingredients Inc., a SemBioSys subsidiary. CFO James Szarko replaces Baum at SBS's helm. Szarko, in collaboration with the Calgary company's internal financial team, will continue as finance lead. SemBioSys is a biotech company developing protein-based pharmaceuticals. Botaneco sells oleosome-based products in the personal care-ingredient market. Botaneco's head office and manufacturing facility is located in Calgary, with a satellite office in Bensalem, Pa.

* Barry Herring has been appointed as the new VP of finance and CFO for Stem Cell Therapeutics Corp. (TSXV:SSS). Mark Wayne has resigned as CFO, but will remain on the board as chairman. Prior to joining SCT, Herring was the president, CFO and a director of Atlas Minerals Inc. SSS is a Calgary-based biotech focused on drug-based therapies to treat central nervous system diseases.
