Synodon Inc. (TSXV-SYD) has appointed Nimal Rodrigo as chief financial officer. Rodrigo comes with more than 19 years in finance and public company management. Synodon is an Edmonton-based technology company that has developed a natural gas pipeline-leak detection system.
Western Warrior Resources Inc. (TSXV:WWR) has engaged Paul Nagerl as president and chief executive officer, while Grant Hall has been appointed VP of corporate development for the Calgary company. Most recently, Nagerl was VP of exploration for Blackstone Ventures. Western Warrior is a multi-commodity mineral exploration company.
Suncor Energy Inc. has made three changes to the company's executive team. Jay Thornton assumes the role of executive VP of refining and marketing. Thornton was previously senior VP of business integration. He replaces outgoing executive VP Tom Ryley. Taking over Thornton's previous role is Bart Demosky. Demosky most recently served as treasurer.
Joel Croteau has been appointed senior VP of natural gas and in situ resources. Croteau, a 29-year Suncor veteran, has held a variety of positions and replaces Dave Byler, who is retiring in April. Suncor is an integrated energy company headquartered in Calgary.
Parlee McLaws LLP, a law firm with 125 years of history in Alberta, has elected Jerri Cairns to managing partner. Cairns articled at Parlee McLaws in 1986-1987 and became a partner of the firm in 1993. In addition to her new role, Cairns will continue her litigation practice.
Canadian Traffic Network (CTN), a subsidiary of Global Traffic Network Inc. which provides custom traffic and news reports to radio and television stations outside the United States, has appointed Peter Alpen as VP/GM of its western region. Prior to joining CTN, he served as director and VP of sales and marketing at Fraser Valley Broadcasters and Starcom Broadcast Sales. Global Traffic Network operates seven traffic networks in Canada.
First Calgary Petroleums Ltd. (TSX:FCP) has made some changes at the top. David Savage has become CFO and Jeffrey Angel has become VP of corporate communications and investor relations. Savage has been serving as the interim director of corporate finance for the Calgary company since August 2007. Prior to joining FCP, Angel was the president of GCI Canada. First Calgary Petroleums is an oil and gas company active in Algeria.
Nairn Nerland has resigned as CFO of RenoWorks Software Inc. (TSXV:RW) to focus on his position as COO of Calgary-based stock distributor Veer and as a member of the executive team of parent company Corbis. Nerland will continue to sit on the RW board. Doug Vickerson has been named as the new CFO in addition to his duties as CEO. RenoWorks develops and markets visualization software for the remodeling and new-home construction industries. Its head office is in Calgary.
G2 Resources Inc. (TSXV:GRT) has appointed Derek Batorowski as CFO. Batorowski, a CGA, has acted as CFO for both private and public junior companies. He replaces Leonard Arcovio, who resigned as an officer of G2 in February. G2 Resources is a Calgary-based junior oil and gas company.
