On Oct. 31, Jon Collins, vice-president for exploration business development, retired after 40 years of service to the company. Roger Brain, senior VP for marketing and refining, will retire on Nov. 30 after 30 years with Teck.
As of Dec. 1, Teck is making the following executive promotions: Mike Agg becomes VP of refining and metal sales. Agg has been general manager responsible for the company's zinc and lead refinery in Trail.
Andrew Stonkus becomes VP of concentrate marketing. Stonkus is currently the GM of concentrate marketing.
John Thompson becomes VP of technology. Thompson has been the company's chief geoscientist.

Alberto Chang joins NovaGold as chief mining engineer. He comes from Newmont, where he spent seven years at the Yanacocha mine in Peru.

Jim Maier, president and CEO of RailPower Technologies Corp. (TSX:P), is stepping down due to health problems as soon as a new CEO can be appointed.
The company said he will continue as a director and has agreed to assist RailPower as required for an extended period of time.
RailPower, headquartered in North Vancouver, produces hybrid and multi-engine low-emission, high-efficiency yard and road switcher locomotives.
