Former TELUS executive Wayne Morishita has joined Venture Communications as national client marketing director.

Morishita recently held senior marketing roles with TELUS Business Solutions, directing the division’s expansion into Ontario. He has also helped lead marketing and advertising campaigns for several national and multi-national companies, including Nabob, Scott Paper, Pepsi-Cola Canada and Hyatt Hotels.
Founded in 1984, Calgary-based Venture Communications is a national, independent communications firm specializing in strategic planning and measurement, advertising, design and public relations. It has offices in Edmonton, Ottawa and London, Ont.
Energy solutions company CE Franklin Ltd. has made several senior appointments. The Calgary-based firm (CFT-TSX; CFK-AMEX) has named Rod Tatham as director of customer service and quality. Tatham has more than 25 years of oilfield experience specializing in process design, redesign and continuous improvement initiatives.
Ron Brown, who joins the company as vice-president of national accounts, has more than 22 years of oilfield distribution experience in sales, marketing and management.
CE Franklin’s new procurement manager is Dale Rawson, who has more than 25 years of purchasing and inventory management experience in oil and gas production and oilfield and industrial distribution.
Repair Industry Finance Corporation (RIFCO), a specialty consumer finance company, has a new vice- president of marketing. Jim Zakowsky took up his duties effective June 17th. He brings years of experience as a marketing manager in the auto-parts and consumer finance industries.
RIFCO finances automotive repairs and vehicle purchases for mid-market customers of its ‘Valued Repairer Network’.
RIFCO has more than 100 enrolled repairers offering point-of-sale financing for auto repairs.
Alternative Fuel Systems Inc. (AFS) had seven directors elected to the board at the annual meeting June 12. They include: John Webb, the company’s president and CEO, Allan Amey, Len Bolger, Darshan Kailly, Jim Perry, Dr. M. David Checkel, and the Hon. Harvie Andre.
Subsequent to the meeting, Amey was appointed chairman of the board. He is currently the president and CEO of Climate Change Central.
