ThoughtWorks, Inc. will acquire Servidium Inc. of Calgary in a deal expected to be finalized by Sept. 30.

As ThoughtWorks is a privately held company, there will be no disclosure on the acquisition’s structure or price, said Michael Connor, Servidium’s vice-president, sales and marketing.

Servidium is a software company focused on the development of web-enabled enterprise applications. “(It) is a well-respected firm with the knowledge and technical expertise it takes to deliver on complex projects,” ThoughtWorks CEO and president Roy Singham said in a statement.

“This acquisition supports our business strategy by expanding our offerings within North America.”

Chicago-based Thought-Works and Servidium had previously partnered on behalf of a leading North American energy company focused on natural gas transmission and electric power services.

“The match-up of culture and expertise between our companies made this path a natural one,” said Kevin McIsaac, president of Servidium.

The Servidium staff will move into the newly acquired ThoughtWorks office at 805 10th Ave. S.W. when the Calgary branch is ready for occupancy by November.

The new office will focus on existing key markets within Canada including energy, leasing, financial services, insurance, retail/supply chain and data/voice communications.

Servidium employs 15 people. Founded in 1999, the company has developed a number of proprietary application development tools.

ThoughtWorks, founded in 1993, develops custom e-business applications and provides advanced systems integration services for Global 1000 companies.

The company also has offices in New York, San Francisco, London, Nashville, and Melbourne.
