Two Calgary real estate offices, one with a corporate history reaching back to the 19th century, have merged into a new firm.

Toole Peet Real Estate merged last week with Prudential Solutions for Real Estate, with the new company to be called Prudential Toole Peet Real Estate. Tim Crough, broker/partner of Toole Peet will become broker/manager of the new firm, while Helen Lochore and Patti Beaudry of Prudential Solutions for Real Estate will become relocation directors.

With the merger, “Toole Peet owns the Prudential franchise in Calgary west to Banff,” Crough said in an interview with Business Edge.

Prudential has a strong commercial presence, he noted. “That’s one of the reasons we’ve become an affiliate of them,” he said. It gives us a network of agents to talk to across Canada and the United States.”
Prudential also has the second-largest corporate relocation practice in Canada.

Aligning the two companies will enhance the quality of service. They have compatible visions and operating styles, he said.

“The Prudential name and ‘Rock’ logo are among the most widely recognized in North America and Prudential Financial’s motto of ‘strength, integrity and trust’ very closely reflects Toole Peet’s own service philosophy,” he added.

Toole Peet and Co. Ltd. is one of Calgary’s oldest businesses, established in 1897 as a partnership between George Peet and William Toole, great-granduncle of current president Larry Toole.
