Tourism Calgary has a new president and chief executive officer. Alex Graham joins after eight years as president and CEO of the Calgary Zoological Society. He replaces Joe Fardell, who announced his retirement in March after nine years heading the agency. Tourism Calgary markets and promotes the city for leisure and business travel.

Zargon Energy Trust has appointed two new vice-presidents. Lorne Schwetz has been promoted to VP of land. He was previously manager of land negotiations for Zargon. Brian Kergan has joined the company as VP of corporate development and reserves. He comes with more than 25 years of experience in the energy industry.

Sheila Wares has notified Zargon that she will be retiring from her position as VP of accounting, although she will continue to contribute on a part-time basis. She has been with the Calgary company since its inception 17 years ago.

Zargon is an energy trust with oil and natural gas operations in Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and North Dakota.

Sylogist Ltd. (TSXV:SYZ) has promoted Werner Biegler to president and CEO. Biegler joined Sylogist in January 2007. He replaces Jim Wilson, who becomes executive chairman. Wilson will also lead the strategic and acquisition-related activities of the company.

Sylogist provides information management and collaboration services to local government, education and private-sector customers through client, web-based and mobile systems. Its head office is in Calgary.

PFB Corp. (TSX:PFB) has appointed Bruce Chorlton as VP of corporate development. Chorlton joins PFB from Schneider Canada, where he served as VP of marketing.

PFB is a vertically integrated manufacturer of products that use expanded polystyrene technology. Its head office is in Calgary.

Bradley Macson becomes VP of operations for Total Energy Services Trust (TSX:TOT.UN) on Nov. 1. Macson, a professional engineer, most recently managed the engineering and construction group for an intermediate oil and gas company. Based in Calgary, Total is a growth-oriented energy services income trust.

Great Plains Exploration Inc. (TSX:GPX) has a new vice-president of engineering and operations. Rob Poole comes with more than 27 years of industry experience, most recently as VP operations and engineering at Gentry Resources. He replaces Curt Labelle, who has stepped down to pursue other opportunities. Great Plains is a Calgary-based oil and natural gas company established in June 2004.

Red Rock Energy Inc. (TSXV:RRK) has hired Reg Olson as vice-president of exploration. Olson brings a long career in the mining sector, most recently as the principal of R.A. Olson Consulting Ltd. from 1992 to 2007. Red Rock is a uranium exploration and development company with its corporate office in Calgary.

Michael Jackson is resigning from the positions of president, chief operating officer and trustee of Royal Host Real Estate Investment Trust (TSX: RYL.UN) effective Aug. 31. A committee of the trustees will fill in until a successor is appointed. Royal Host's core businesses are hotel ownership, management and franchising in Canada. Its head office is in Calgary.

Enseco Energy Services Corp. (TSXV:ENS) has appointed Aly Khan Musani as senior VP and CFO. Before joining Enseco, Musani was the CFO of Triangle Petroleum Corp. Enseco is an emerging supplier of energy-related services operating throughout the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin. Its head office is in Calgary.

Canoro Resources Ltd. (TSXV:CNS) has named Brian Gieni, CMA, as its new VP of finance and CFO. Most recently, Gieni was the chairman, president and CEO of Greyhawke Resources Ltd. He replaces Rob McInnis, who had served in the capacity of interim CFO since December 2006. McInnis will continue in his existing role of VP of business development and corporate affairs. Canoro is a Calgary-based oil and gas company operating in the Assam/ Arakan basin of northeast India.

Canexus Income Fund (TSX:CUS.UN) has appointed two executives to senior operations roles. David Gosse will fill the newly created role of VP of manufacturing.

Gosse was most recently VP of engineering and technology. Kevin Meaney replaces Gosse. Meaney was most recently general manager for organizational effectiveness. Based in Calgary, Canexus produces sodium chlorate and chlor-alkali products for the pulp and paper and water treatment industries from five plants in Canada and one in Brazil.

Brian Farrell has joined Mexican Silver Mines Ltd. (TSXV:MSM) as its new CFO. He has also become the new CFO of Prize Mining Corp. (TSXV:PRZ). Bob Ashauer is no longer with the Calgary companies, which provided no further details. Farrell, a CA, has been a partner with three public accounting firms and CFO to two companies. MSM is a silver-focused junior resource company focused on three properties in northeastern Mexico. Prize is focused on the discovery and development of precious-metal deposits.

Jim Fries has returned to Calgary as a senior consultant with Cenera, a Calgary-based human resources and business consulting firm. Fries was previously the director of human resources at Catalyst Paper's Powell River division.

Bonnie Krisher has been appointed to open the first Alberta office of K&G Debt and Credit Professionals in Calgary. Krisher is an expert in debt settlement. K&G is a British Columbia-based debt settlement company that assists individuals who can no longer manage their debtload but do not want to claim bankruptcy.

Keith Butz has been named general manager of Hyatt Regency Calgary by Hyatt Hotels Corp. Butz takes over from Steve McNally, GM for the past six years. McNally has been promoted to GM of Hyatt Regency Vancouver. Butz started his career with Hyatt in 1993. Hyatt Corp. is a global hotel company in more than 44 countries.
