Tourism Toronto has made two appointments to its international team. Alice Au has been promoted to director of sales, international meetings and events, while Grace Ping Huang joins as manager of China market development.

Au has spent the last two years as account director for Canadian associations at Tourism Toronto.

Huang brings two decades of tourism marketing experience, most recently as deputy director of the China National Tourist Office in Toronto. Tourism Toronto is an industry association of more than 1,000 members established to market the Greater Toronto Region as a destination.

Four Seasons Hotels Inc. (TSX:FSH, NYSE:FS) has named Kathleen Taylor as president and COO effective Jan. 1.

Wolf Hengst, who is currently president of worldwide hotel operations, will retire at yearend. Jim FitzGibbon will take over from Hengst, reporting to Taylor.

Taylor joined Four Seasons in 1989. She is president of worldwide business operations.

FitzGibbon joined Four Seasons in 1976. He is executive VP of operations.

Four Seasons has 70 hotels in 31 countries. Its corporate office is in Toronto.

has made two executive appointments in sales and strategic alliances.

Thomas Siegel has joined the company's executive team as VP of worldwide sales. He was most recently VP of global sales for Espial Inc.

Opalis also named Harry France as director of strategic relationships. France joins from Mercury Interactive where he managed the Canadian region.

Privately held Opalis provides enterprise software used to integrate and automate routine IT operational processes.

Saatchi & Saatchi Canada says that COO Johann Xavier will be leaving Canada to become CFO for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, based in London, England.

Saatchi & Saatchi Canada is part of the Publicis Groupe, the world's fourth-largest communications group with 134 offices in 80 countries.

Randy Koroll has been named CFO of Lakota Resources Inc. (TSXV:LAK) to which he brings 18 years of accounting experience. He was most recently CFO of a private company.

Lakota is a gold explorer active in Tanzania and has its offices in Toronto.

Yukon Gold Corp. Inc. (TSX:YK) says Ken Hill has resigned as president and CEO, to be replaced by Howard Barth, an accountant. Hill remains with Yukon Gold as VP of mining operations, and will focus on exploration programs at its two properties.

Chief operating officer Paul Murphy is to succeed Dave Goulding when the latter retires as president and CEO of Ontario's Independent Electricity System Operator later this year.

Murphy, an engineer, was named IESO's vice-president of corporate and market development in 1999 when the company was formed.

The IESO is responsible for managing Ontario's bulk electricity system and operating the wholesale electricity market.

Excel-Tech Ltd. (TSX:NRV), a medical technology company that sells neuro-diagnostic devices, has hired Peter Kastelic as CFO.

Kastelic, an accountant, succeeds Douglas Shields, who is leaving the company for personal reasons.
