Dimitrios (Jim) Leonidas is resigning as AltaLink's executive vice-president and chief financial officer effective Dec. 1 to pursue a new opportunity.
While a search is under way for his successor, Richard McCabe, AltaLink's VP and controller, will be acting CFO.
AltaLink operates more than 11,600 km of electrical transmission lines and about 260 substations in Alberta. Its corporate office is in Calgary.
Total Energy Services Trust (TSX:TOT.UN) is promoting Mark Kearl to vice-president of finance and chief financial officer effective Jan. 1, 2007. Kearl will replace David Hawkins, who is stepping down at the end of 2006 to pursue an opportunity with a new enterprise.
Kearl is currently controller of Total's contract drilling services division.

CanWest MediaWorks says Linda Hughes is leaving her post at the Edmonton Journal after 15 years in the job. Her resignation takes effect Jan. 1, 2007.
The Journal is one of 10 major metropolitan dailies in the country owned by CanWest Media Publications Inc.

Wayne Geddes, VP of land and business development for Point North Energy Ltd. (TSX:PNY), has left the company. Point North says his departure comes in the wake of the company being granted protection under Companies' Creditors Arrangement Act and a resulting shift in company focus.
Calgary-based Point North, the successor company to Purcell Energy Ltd., is a northern-focused junior natural gas company.
Leader Energy Services Ltd. (TSXV:LEE) has made a number of managerial appointments.
Donald Baird becomes CFO effective Dec. 1. Most recently, Baird provided advisory services to companies in the oil and gas, transportation, and health-care sectors.
Baird replaces Jim Ashbaugh, whose role will change to that of chief administration officer.

has appointed Kent Devlin as VP of operations. Devlin has more than 20 years of experience in the oil service industry, most recently with Precision Drilling.
