Uranium One Inc. (TSX:UUU) has appointed Dennis Stover as executive VP for the Americas. He was previously COO of Energy Metals Corp. Donna Wichers has been appointed senior VP for ISR operations. She was previously senior VP for ISR operations at Energy Metals. Paul Clarke has joined Uranium One as senior VP and branch chief for Kazakhstan, working in Almaty. Clarke was most recently with Highland Gold Mining Ltd. in Moscow. Uranium One has offices in Toronto, Vancouver and abroad.
Challenging headwinds for the Canadian beer market and the failure of Brick Brewing Co. Ltd. (TSX:BRB) to find a potential buyer has led its chief executive, Doug Berchtold, to exit the company. He joined the brewer in early 2004. Berchtold’s role wraps up after what founder and executive chairman Jim Brickman referred to as an “intensive” company review that started in May and “took a fair bit more time than we thought.” In addition to its Brick craft brews, Brick Brewing makes Laker, Red Cap and Formosa Springs Draft. Brickman founded the company in 1984.
Marketing services company Pareto Corp. (TSX:PTO) has appointed Karen Trudell as CFO. She replaces Clint Becker, who left to become CFO of Marketwire, a privately owned newswire. Trudell is a chartered accountant and was formerly CFO of Lakeport Brewing Income Fund from 2002 to 2007. Pareto is headquartered in Toronto.
Arbor Memorial Services Inc. (TSX:ABO.A, ABO.B) says its president and CEO, Richard Innes, is retiring. Arbor owns cemeteries and funeral facilities in eight provinces. Its head office is in Toronto.
Tarquin Group Inc. (TSXV:TQN) says that CFO Jennifer North is resigning but has agreed to remain to allow the company time to find a replacement. Tarquin aims to become a diversified industrial technology company providing services to the global manufacturing market. Its head office is in Ottawa.
Castle Gold Corp. (TSXV:CSG) says its CFO, Michael Farrant, has resigned his position to pursue other business activities. Castle Gold has appointed Maricruz Alvarado, CGA, as interim CFO. She has prior experience acting as the CFO of public
mining companies. Joseph Giuffre has been appointed as the Toronto company’s new corporate secretary. He is founding partner in Axium Law Corp. Formed in August by the amalgamation of Morgain Minerals and Aurogin Resources, Castle Gold’s focus is on precious metals in Mexico and Central America.
True North Corp. says Alan McMillan is its new CEO, succeeding Rick Camilleri who will work with McMillan during the transitional period. McMillan comes to True North with 20 years in the technology business. True North is a technology-enabled marketing services company serving Fortune 2000 companies. It is headquartered in Mississauga and trades as TN on the Venture Exchange.
Hi Ho Silver Resources Inc. (CNQ:HIHO) says that director Jamie Rainbird has been appointed CFO. Rainbird brings extensive financial and business experience, and is president and CEO of Intigold Mines Ltd. He succeeds Wayne Turgeon, who will continue as a consultant.

Pizza Pizza Ltd. has announced that Daniel Vukovich, its COO, is leaving to pursue other interests but will remain a director of Pizza Pizza GP Inc. Michael Overs, CEO of Pizza Pizza Ltd., has assumed responsibility for the company’s daily operations. Pizza Pizza Ltd. is a privately held Canadian corporation with head office in Toronto. It operates franchised and corporate restaurants under the brand names Pizza Pizza and Pizza 73.
Securit Information Security has made its long-time board of advisers a board of directors and appointed Robert Warshauer as president and CEO. Securit’s founder and former president and CEO, Greg Brophy, was killed Sept. 30 in a plane crash in Alaska. The ownership of Securit was transferred to his wife, Tracey Brophy. Greg founded Shred-it, the onsite document-destruction division of Securit, in 1988. Securit’s head office is in Oakville.
AOL Canada Inc. has promoted Joseph Arcuri to general manager. In his new role, Arcuri will oversee all Canadian operations. He succeeds Jonathan Lister, who will be moving to London, England, to become senior VP of operations for AOL Europe. AOL Canada has its head office in Toronto and is a wholly owned subsidiary of AOL LLC of Dulles, Va.
Tom Flynn, executive VP for finance and treasurer, becomes acting CFO for BMO Financial Group while Karen Maidment is on medical leave. She will be available for consultation. The bank has its head office in Toronto.
Michael Morrison has been named VP and general manager for financial performance management at Cognos (TSX:CSN, Nasdaq:COGN). Morrison comes from Applix, where he served as chief operating officer. Cognos provides enterprise planning and business intelligence

Peace Arch Entertainment Group Inc. says it has placed CEO Gary Howsam on administrative leave following his arrest in connection with a U.S. federal investigation into certain transactions prior to his joining Peace Arch in 2003. Peace Arch is not a party to the investigation. Peace Arch has three operating divisions – film, television and home entertainment. Its head office is in Toronto.
Bird Construction Income Fund (TSX: BDT.UN) says that Michael Martin, CFO and assistant secretary of Bird Construction Co. Ltd., is leaving to pursue other business interests. Kevin Dougherty, president of Sun Life Financial Canada, becomes president of Sun Life Global Investments. Dean Connor, executive VP, succeeds Dougherty. Robert Salipante, president of Sun Life Financial U.S., will take the added role of leading a new international variable annuity centre. Tom Bogart, executive VP and general counsel, will also become chairman of subsidiary companies Sun Life Insurance (Canada) Ltd. and Sun Life Assurance Co. of Canada (U.S.). Genesis Worldwide Inc. (TSX:GWI) has appointed Jack Scivoletto as president of subsidiary KML Engineered Homes Ltd., which does business as KML Building Solutions.
