Real estate experts will rub shoulders with designers and builders at an upcoming “four in one” showcase in Vancouver expected to attract more than 8,000 participants interested in all aspects of the building and home ownership industry.
The challenges and benefits of Vancouver’s thriving real estate market will be front and centre at the Convention and Exhibition Centre on February 24 and 25 as building owners, developers, property and facility managers gather to discuss the state of the industry.
Richard Anderson, president of the Building Owners and Managers Association of B.C. (BOMA), will moderate a seminar on major trends and opportunities in the Vancouver real estate market including perspectives on the current and future state of retail, office, industrial and residential real estate.
Meanwhile, more than 550 exhibitors will be showcasing their products and services. “You really get a wide range of companies from small, independent family operations to the big national and international companies, all under the same roof,” said David Tyldesley, director of sales and marketing for the event.
The “4 Expositions in 1” event includes BUILDEX, now in its 15th year, which runs concurrently with the British Columbia Construction Show, Design Northwest and the Homebuilder and Renovator Expo.
The 100 seminars scheduled will cover an array of topics, including major products, technologies and services. Two international roundtables will focus on architecture and interior design.
Tyldesley noted the Italian Trade Commission has been instrumental in bringing a number of companies from Italy to introduce their products, including fixtures, faucets, tiling and furnishings, some of which weren’t previously available in Vancouver.
Event manager Karen Beaubier said attendance is expected to exceed the 8,300 industry people last year, mostly from B.C.’s Lower Mainland but also from Vancouver Island, Alberta and Washington State.
