Viterra (TSX:VT) has named Rex McLennan as its new chief financial officer. He was most recently executive VP and CFO for Vancouver 2010 Vanoc, the organizing committee for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.

He will live in Calgary, working with operations across Western Canada. McLennan replaces David Carefoot, who will remain with the company until the end of February to assist with transitioning.

Saskatchewan Wheat Pool Inc., doing business as Viterra, has operations across Western Canada, and in the United States and Japan. Its head office is in Regina.

• • • Winnipeg-based HudBay Minerals Inc. (TSX:HBM) CEO Peter Jones has been replaced with chairman Allen Palmiere. Jones had been at the helm of HudBay since 2002. Palmiere was previously treasurer of Northgate Exploration, CEO and CFO of Breakwater Resources, and CFO of Zemex Corp. HudBay operates mines, concentrators and a metal production complex in northern Manitoba and Saskatchewan.

• • • Canwest Broadcasting has announced its senior management lineup after the recent CRTC approval of Canwest's acquisition of the broadcasting assets of Alliance Atlantis. Appointments include: Andrew Akman, senior vice-president for strategy and chief administrative officer; Charlotte Bell, senior VP for regulatory affairs; Errol Da-Ré, executive VP for sales; Michael French, chief financial officer; Walter Levitt, chief marketing officer; David McCauley, senior VP for human resources; Christine McGinley, senior VP for operations; Barbara Williams, executive VP for content; and Steve Wyatt, senior VP for news and information. Canwest Broadcasting operates two conventional television networks, Global Television and E!, and 21 specialty channels. It is a division of Canwest Media Inc., which is a subsidiary of Canwest Global Communications Corp. (TSX:CGS, CGS.A). Its head office is in Winnipeg.
