Viterra Inc. (TSX:VT) has promoted two of its executives. Ray Dean is the new senior VP, general counsel/corporate secretary; and Colleen Vancha is now senior VP of investor relations and corporate affairs. Vancha joined the company in 1988. Dean joined Viterra in 2003. In other company moves, Christian Joerg has been named VP and managing director, Europe, with the opening of a new Viterra office in Geneva. Joerg most recently served as executive director for UBS AG in Geneva. Viterra is an agribusiness operating across Western Canada, and in the U.S., Japan and Singapore. Its head office is in Regina.

DiaMedica Inc. (TSXV:DMA), a drug development company focused on treatments for Type 2 diabetes, says that Stephen Waters has been appointed interim executive VP and chief scientific officer, replacing Wayne Lautt who has resigned. Waters, a scientist and pharmaceutical industry executive, brings more than 24 years of experience in drug development. DiaMedica has its head office in Winnipeg.
