WestJet has hired Sean Durfy as the airline’s new executive vice-president of marketing and sales.
Durfy has spent his last five years at Enmax, where he most recently held the position of vice-president of Enmax Corp. and president and COO of Enmax Energy Corp.
Calgary-based WestJet (TSX: WJA) serves 24 Canadian and seven U.S. cities.
Ross Jones has joined Canadian Superior Energy Inc. as chief financial officer, replacing David Purcell. Most recently Jones was the president of his own financial consulting company.
The company also announced several other hirings.
Carla O’Neil is Canadian Superior’s new office manager. She was most recently at UBS Energy Canada Ltd.
Frits Van Dyl has joined the company as senior geologist. Van Dyl has worked for many well-known Canadian oil and gas companies.
Canadian Superior is a Calgary-based oil and gas exploration and production company with operations in Western Canada, offshore Nova Scotia and offshore Trinidad and Tobago.
Endev Energy Inc. has announced a coming departure from its executive suites.
The company said chief financial officer Dennis Kwan will be leaving Endev as of Nov. 30 to pursue other opportunities.
Endev (TSX: ENE) is a Calgary-based crude oil and natural gas exploration, development and production company.
Ken Boessenkool has joined Hill & Knowlton Canada as vice-president of business development in the Calgary office.
Boessenkool will provide strategic counsel and analysis regarding reputation and issues management, communications, regulatory advice, government relations and corporate positioning. Prior to joining Hill & Knowlton, he was senior policy advisor to national Conservative Leader Stephen Harper.
Hill & Knowlton Canada is a public affairs and public relations firm.
James Bunyan has resigned as Madison Energy Corp.’s president and chief financial officer, but remains a director.
Patricia Taguchi becomes Madison’s new CFO. She has 20 years of experience in the energy sector with Canadian and international oil and gas companies. John Murdoch, the current chief executive officer of Madison, will assume the additional role as company president.
Calgary-based Madison (TSX:MDC) is engaged in the acquisition, exploration and development of resource properties.
Circa Enterprises Inc. (TSX:CTO) has appointed Rick Schmidt as president and chief executive officer.
Schmidt has served as VP of finance and chief financial officer of Circa since December 1998.
Interim president Ivan Smith steps down but continues to act as a company director and make his services available on a consulting basis.
Circa Enterprises Inc. is a manufacturer of surge protection equipment and related devices for the telecom and construction industries.
LongBow Energy Corp. (TSXV: LBV) has named Mark Ross as its new president.
Ross has more than 23 years in the oil and gas industry.
Robert Martin, formerly president, and Dale Fisher, formerly CEO, have both resigned but will continue to serve as directors and provide consultation services to LongBow as required.
LongBow is a junior oil and natural gas company based in Calgary.
Keith Wilford has joined Grand Banks Energy Corp. (TSXV: GBE) as vice-president of operations.
His most recent position was VP and chief operating officer at Choice Resources Corp.
Grand Banks is involved in the acquisition, exploration and development of oil and gas properties in Western Canada.
