The Saskatchewan Wheat Pool (TSX:SWP) has named a new management team from both Agricore United and the Pool to lead its integrated operations.
Fran Malecha becomes COO. He was previously the Pool's senior VP of grain operations. David Carefoot, former CFO of Agricore United, becomes CFO of the Pool. Karl Gerrand continues as president of subsidiary Can-Oat Milling. William McGill moves from VP of livestock services for AU to senior VP of livestock services at the new company. George Prosk, VP of financial markets for AU, becomes SVP of financial products.
Gene Rurak, COO of Western Co-operative Fertilizers Ltd., becomes president of the subsidiary. Ray Dean continues as VP, general counsel and corporate secretary. Colleen Vancha becomes VP of investor relations and corporate affairs. Paula Duguid continues as VP for business planning and development. Mike Brooks becomes CIO and VP of information technology and Gerry Valois is VP of human resources.
Lori Robidoux is VP of taxation and risk, Bob Miller SVP for grain, Doug Weinbender SVP of agri-products, Richard Wansbutter VP of government and commercial relations, Ron Cameron VP of finance and corporate controller, Grant Theaker VP and treasurer, and Sherry Lees, treasurer.
Saskatchewan Wheat Pool has extensive operations across Western Canada, with operations in the United States and Japan. The Pool's head office is in Regina.
Jovian Capital Corp. (TSXV:JVN) has split the roles of president and CEO, with Philip Armstrong continuing as CEO and executive VP Mark Arthur becoming president. Jovian is a management and holding company with interests in a variety of financial service firms specializing in wealth and asset management. Its head office is in Winnipeg and its executive office in Toronto.
Wildcat Exploration Ltd. (TSXV:WEL) has named John Knowles as president and CEO. Knowles brings more than 20 years of resource industry experience. He succeeds Jerrold Siemens, who resigns as interim president and CEO but remains a director of the Winnipeg company. Wildcat explores for gold and base metals in Canada.
The Manitoba Rural Adaptation Council (MRAC) has hired Craig Loewen as communications co-ordinator. Loewen has previous agricultural employment experience with the Manitoba Pulse Growers Association, and Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada. MRAC is a private not-for-profit organization that provides funding for innovative and sustainable agricultural projects to advance the agriculture and agri-food industry in Manitoba.
