Tree Island Wire Income Fund (TSX:TIL.UN) has appointed Daniel McAtee the president and chief executive officer of Tree Island Industries and a trustee of the fund. McAtee succeeds Ted Leja, who is retiring after 12 years as Tree Island's president and CEO. Leja will serve as vice-chair of the board of trustees. McAtee comes to Tree Island from Tyco, where he served as president of the A&E products group. Headquartered in Richmond, Tree Island produces a range of wire products primarily for Western Canada and the western United States.

Opal Energy Inc., a subsidiary of Boulder Mining Corp. (TSXV:BDR), has appointed Stephen Hoover to the position of vice-president of geophysics. He joins the Opal Energy Inc. exploration group in Katy, Tex. Hoover brings more than 30 years of geophysical experience on the Texas Gulf Coast. Opal Energy is focused on natural gas targets in south Texas. Vancouver-based Boulder will shortly change its name to Opal Energy Corp. and request a new TSXV trading symbol.

Boston Pizza International Inc. has promoted Stephen Plunkett to executive vice-president for Western Canada effective Dec. 1. He replaces Doug MacDonald, who has accepted the position of president with BPI's affiliate in the United States. Plunkett, who joined the company in 1997, currently leads BPI's marketing and promotions departments as VP of marketing. BPI is a privately held company and licensee of the Boston Pizza trademarks from the Boston Pizza Royalties Limited Partnership. Its head office is in Richmond.

Candente Resource Corp. (TSX:DNT) has appointed Thomas Rinaldi as vice-president of operations. Rinaldi comes with 23 years of open pit and underground mining experience in the U.S. and South America. Vancouver-based Candente is an exploration company with copper, gold, silver and zinc projects in Peru and Mexico.

Forbes Medi-Tech Inc. (TSX:FMI, NASDAQ:FMTI) has a new chief scientific officer. Dr. John Nestor joins the company executive following Forbes' acquisition of privately held TheraPei Pharmaceuticals of San Diego, founded by Nestor. TheraPei's research is focused on treatments for diabetes. Vancouver-based Forbes is a life sciences company developing cardiovascular disease treatments.

Charles Preble, the president and CEO of Peru Copper Inc. (TSX:PCR, AMEX:CUP), is retiring effective Dec. 31. Preble will continue as a consultant and a member of the board. Vancouver-based Peru Copper is involved in the acquisition and exploration of copper deposits in Peru.

Epic Data International Inc. (TSX:EKD) has made some changes within its senior management ranks.
Greg Watkin becomes VP of operations. He was previously the company’s VP of product development.
Graeme Harfman becomes VP of marketing, after serving as the company’s senior product manager since May 2005.
Mark Whalen becomes VP of sales. He has spent 13 years with Epic in direct sales and sales management roles.
Also announced were the departures of VP of operations Zahir Abji and VP of sales for North America Alex Holowko.
Based in Richmond, Epic Data provides automatic identification and data collection services.

UC Resources (TSXV: UC) has made two managerial additions.
Neil Novak assumes the position of VP of exploration, while Hamish Malkin becomes CFO. Nicole Wood, previously CFO, will continue with the company as controller.
Novak was previously the president and CEO of Spider Resources Inc. Malkin is currently CFO of two other public mining companies.
UC is focused on silver and gold prospects in Mexico. Its corporate office is in Vancouver.

Eaglecrest Explorations, Ltd. (TSXV:EEL) says Hans Rasmussen has accepted the position of COO.
Rasmussen, who recently joined Eaglecrest’s board of directors, previously worked as a chief geophysicist for White Knight Resources.
Vancouver-based Eaglecrest is a junior miner involved in gold exploration.

Most recently, Reid was VP of mining operations for Aur Resources Inc.

He replaces Lukas Lundin, who is stepping down as a director and president.
Ian Gibbs, formerly CFO of Valkyries Petroleum Corp., has been appointed CFO of Canmex.
Canmex is a Vancouver-based junior resource company.
